From Philadelphia, Political Activist, Dr. Dahlia Wasfi, who will discuss our current political state of affairs. Commander David Robinson and retired Captain Harold Love will address the BLACK AND WHITE OF COMMUNITY POLICING. Star of film and comedy Mike Bataya will perform. Executive Director of SER Metro Eva Garza Dewaelsche will address the challenges facing the Hispanic/Latino Communities. From 8:30 am- 4:30 pm the Day of Diversity will engage the Arab, Latino, Asian, African, Jewish and Disabilities communities in an interactive discussion focused on the current environment in policing, racism, stereotypes, media, and the do’s and dont’s of cultural etiquette. Topics on community policing, our current politically charged atmosphere will be addressed by our diverse speakers while developing tools of empowerment to combat the negative images , fear, intolerance, bigotry, hate crimes and various issues we are facing as a nation. Law enforcement, educators, health care, media, corporate and government officials are encouraged to attend.
