2-Billion Christians Warned about 2012

(Before It's News)

Yesterday I received an email from a Christian.  As there are over 2-billion Christians (or about 30 percent of the world’s population), what made this message stand out is that it came from my son who is a devout believer and a person I would truly call a holy man.

The message simply said ‘ Something for your site. A sign of the end times: Wars, rumours of wars and earthquakes in diverse places. Matthew 24.7’

The article I have put together makes for fascinating reading and a chilling prognosis of the run up to 2012. Biblical quotes are interspersed with signs of a disgruntled planet.

On January 2011 a 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck today near Leeds, England, the US Geological Survey reported. It said the quake struck shortly after 9pm local time about 45km north of Sheffield, 55km east-northeast of Manchester and 270km north-northwest of London at a depth of 10km. Sky News reported it was felt by people living in Cumbria, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. The tremor was the second to hit England in the space of a few weeks. Last month, the British Geological Survey reported an earthquake of 3.5 magnitude hit in Coniston in the Lake District, Sky said.

‘For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places’ – Matthew 24.7 English Standard Version (©2001)

Earthquakes in Diverse Places - Jesus told the Apostles that the times of the end would be typified by birth pangs relating to, among many other things, earthquakes in diverse places. This week has seen an unusual amount of earthquakes. These tremors are occurring not just as earthquakes but other, inexplicable earth form events that have scientists perplexed.

There have been quite a number of 6.0 plus magnitude earthquakes around the world recently. Easter Island to Baffin Bay, Rat Islands Alaska to Panama to the Gulf of California. China experienced a 6.0 that collapsed 10,000 homes, damaged 40,000 and caused much other havoc.

In addition to the strong earthquakes in diverse places recently, two highly unusual events have also occurred. One is that scientists have detected mysterious tremors deep under the San Andreas Fault in California. Scientists have detected a spike in underground rumblings on a section of California's San Andreas Fault that produced a magnitude-7.8 earthquake in 1857.

"Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, monitored seismic activity on the fault's central section between July 2001 and February 2009 and recorded more than 2,000 tremors. All scientists do know is deep tremors appear to have foreshadowed large 2004 quake. Time will tell what God will do."

Other weird earth form activity is occurring up in Alaska. People living near Homer and visiting Bluff Point today were stunned to find a dramatic change in the beach. Where, the day before, beachcombers had a long flat beach in which to stroll, the very next day a 300m long bluff reaching 6m high greeted them. No one knows why. Biblical predictions include:

2 Chronicles 15:6  “One nation was being crushed by another and one city by another, because God was troubling them with every kind of distress.

Isaiah 19:2  "I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian–brother will fight against brother, neighbour against neighbour, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

Isaiah 29:6  “the LORD Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire.

Luke 21:11  “There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

Acts 11:28  “One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)

Revelation 6:5  “When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.

Revelation 6:6  “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

Revelation 6:8  “I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Revelation 6:12  “I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red.

There have been very unusual Earthquakes happening in some very strange places recently…from Alabama USA, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands to other places around the world.

A short round-up:

Haiti - The recent earthquake was the largest in Hispaniola since 1946, experts say. That quake measured 8.0, caused a tsunami, and left 20,000 homeless. The last major tremor hit the city area directly in 1770. The islands containing Haiti and the Dominican Republic–last had a major quake more than 60 years ago.

Malawi - Because it's near the Great Rift Valley, a major tectonic border, Malawi is prone to seismic activity. But a string of quakes in December 2009 and January 2010 have still surprised scientists. More than 30 tremors–the largest of them a 6.2–have struck the area, killing three and posing serious dangers to the impoverished population. A slightly larger quake hit Malawi in 1989, but experts say these are the worst since another 6.2 in 1966.

Illinois - By the time a 5.4-magnitude quake shook southern Illinois in April 2008–with reports of movement coming from as far as Nebraska and Atlanta–the New Madrid quakes were a historical footnote. Scientists said they weren't surprised because the geology of the region made it susceptible, but residents were rattled as Chicago's skyscrapers swayed in the early hours of the morning of April 18.

Britain - Britain experiences dozens of small tremors each year, but a major earthquake is unusual. One exception was a February 2008 quake, with a magnitude of 5.3 that was the country's largest in a quarter century. Radiating from an epicentre near the east coast of England, it shook Wales, Yorkshire, and London.

Chile - Chile has seen its share of temblors, but the size of the 8.8-magnitude quake of February 27, 2010–and the tsunami it set off–was still cause for surprise. The United States Geological Survey doesn't even include Chile on a frequently-hit list (most earthquakes in the region strike Argentina).

  • I was doing historical research on woman preacher of the 19th Century, Ellen G.White. In a sermon dated Dec.14,1884, she mentioned “the fires below will be awaked by the fires above”.
This matches what my Amer-Indian friends are saying: The meteors will crack the earth’s crust, and lava shall pour out.
(I am certainly not Seventh Day Adventist, I was just researching why all the prostitutes quit the line and moved on after she preached there.)
