Difficult Times Are Coming
Paul warned Timothy that difficult times were coming upon this earth…
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
It is becoming almost impossible to avoid these types of people, as we are literally surrounded by evil in today’s present darkness. It has become fashionable to be the type of person that Paul warned us to avoid; the entire world has embraced Alistair Crowley’s Satanic code, “Do as thou wilt is the whole of the law.” For those of us who fully embrace God’s law, this is a very difficult time to be alive, and it shows no signs of abating.
The other day I was crying out to Adonai about the injustice, about how our so-called leaders are leading us into bondage and slavery, and how unfair the world has become. He told me to be quiet and listen; this is what He then said:
Yes, it’s going to become very, very difficult, this is true. But if you focus on Me, I will protect you and walk you through it all. Keep your focus on Me.
Although it is always wise to have extra food, water and medical supplies on hand, the most important preparation we can do for the difficult times ahead is to spend time EACH AND EVERY DAY with the Lord our God. Although we would never think of leaving our houses naked, that is precisely what we are doing when we start our day without first spending time with Adonai.
If we have not opened up our Bible yet, then the day has not started properly. If we have not met with our Master, then we will not be equipped to handle all of the crap that the world is throwing our way. When we cannot handle the evil, frustration takes control and we lose control. The world wants to medicate us to the point where we don’t care anymore. We don’t need medication; we need a daily meeting with the Great Physician.
Praise and worship are something that we have delegated to communal times only… this should not be! We need to learn how to praise and worship Adonai all by ourselves, without accompaniment and without a group of people around us to spur us on. We need to learn how to worship without another person leading us; allowing the Spirit to lead us into worship is something many have never experienced. Our prayer time should naturally lead into worship; however our busy schedules often prevent us from spending time in prayer, let alone additional times of praise and worship.
The enemy is working overtime to prevent us from working out our salvation. Once we are saved from the control of sin, we must make changes in our lives in order for our deliverance to stick. The Spirit of God will lead us in our changes, enabling us to become the man or woman of God that we long to become, but only if we spend time alone with Him.
Adonai has set apart time twice daily to meet with us (Numbers 28:1-8). Unfortunately, most of us are a no-show, either because the cares of the day distracted us, or simply because no one told us of the meeting times. In the morning and in the evening we are to set apart time to spend with Adonai, unloading our hearts to Him and allowing Him to speak words of loving-kindness to our soul, bringing healing. As each of our wounds are healed we are strengthened and will find that those sins of the world, although they are just as sick and evil as always, will not have as much as an effect on our lives as previously. Each soul wound has a tie to the one who created it; healing severs these ties and then they can no longer affect us. Like Pinocchio, we will walk free from the control of those who have hurt us.
Unless we get our wounds healed, unless we spend time with the Most High God, allowing Him to speak the truth to our hearts, cutting us free from the lies propagated by the world around us, we will never be able to stand against the war that has been declared against our souls. The deception is great, and many believers have mixed the enemy’s lie with the Truth because they never spent the time to find out what the Truth is. This has been going on for generations!
O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of distress, to You the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood, futility and things of no profit." Can man make gods for himself? Yet they are not gods! "Therefore behold, I am going to make them know– this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is the LORD." (Jeremiah 16:19-21)
Popular culture, thanks in part to the teachings of New Age gurus and Scientologists, believes that man is god. The enemy’s lie has been fully embraced. Eve’s sin has born more fruit than we could possibly imagine, and it remains rotten to the core, but that doesn’t stop this very sinful world from turning their backs on the one true God and His commands. They have convinced us that His Law brings condemnation and death, but that is only for those who disregard them.
It is time for us to return to the moral foundation we always believed was the best way. We need to ignore the world and all of its lies and turn again to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob so that we can be strengthened to resist the enemy’s attacks.
Thus says the LORD, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'” (Jeremiah 6:16)
Let us not be like our forefathers, refusing to walk in His ways; their punishment will be ours if we continue to walk in the stubbornness of our hearts. Let us instead confess that we’ve inherited lies, passed down from the father of lies, and ask Adonai to forgive our disobedience and to show us how to walk in the Way of Life. Then we will be able to find rest for our souls, regardless of the evil around us.
