Rosh Hashanah has a theme of “Abundance and Sweetness”. It is the Jewish New Year, Day of Trumpets when we blow the shofar, the Day of Repentance, The Day in which the Lord will Come, the Kings Coronation Day, and the Day of Judgment. Rosh Hashanah begins the High Holy Days, a Ten day time from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is simply the time to thank the L_RD for his past year blessings of supply, provision, and protection. It is the time to seek him for his Blessings for the coming year.

Rosh Hashanah means “first of the year” and begins at sundown the day before the start of Tishri 1. The feast is the beginning of the year. It has a special festive meal, similar to Friday evening Shabbat meal. Rosh Hashanah is the time for procrastinators to take care of the things of the Lord. This is the Day to make things right, to repent, to seek him, and to take time during these High Holy Days to correct any relationships and to truly follow the term Love. It is a time to Love God, serve him, and rededicate yourself to the faith of which you follow. It is about the faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach and to take the Love of God and truly take it to the brethren. This is about restoring relationships, asking forgiveness, making restitution, and looking to the Lords blessing for the coming year.

Rosh Hashanah also is the Day of Trumpets and this speaks of the coming of the Lord. It is a comfort that we shall see his face, but also a warning that he is coming and with him is justice. The provision for sins has been made through the blood of the atonement, the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He is the fulfillment of the Day of Atonement, he is the High atonement sacrifice, he is the High Priest on the Day of Atonement, he is a Priest forever after the order of Melchezedek. The Day of Trumpets heralds the comfort and the warning. It is as the Apostle Paul says “knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.” But it is also a comfort to know, that we have hope with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, Yeshua Ha Massiach.
