Jesus never advised people to flee into the mountains for an abundance of peace – Matt 24:16 is a prophecy about the fate of the people of Jerusalem, if you continue reading up to verse 20 and keep it all in contexts the prophecy is about them having to suddenly flee for their lives, leave their homes and go to places unfamiliar – it is not saying the mountains are God’s place of refuge for his people, they flee to the mountains as it is the most logical place to go to avoid being caught and the scripture does not imply anywhere that it is to be a place of abundant peace…
BTW – as beautiful as most all the pictures were – what they all have in common is that they are all extremely harsh environments to live and survive in. Looks are deceiving…to think everyday is like a postcard is naive and ignorant.

The first word of the Word is בְּרֵאשִׁית (be-reshith). Is it a custom for the rabbis and the Catholic church to eliminate usage of the Name YHWH, in flagrant violation of the Third Commandment? Why would it not be a good idea being the earthquake moves every mountain and every island, and since Christ says flee to the mountains, I’d hazard a guess mountains will be the safest place to be. Others are hiding in rocks and caves too (Rev. 6:12-17).
