I don’t know that you speak for most Christians, but I do know that the rapture is clearly laid out in scripture and must occur prior to the 7 yr tribulation period because that time is reserved for the Jews, not the gentiles, where you and nearly every other self professing Christian ends up in the weeds, is you can’t discern the difference between the first fruits rapture and the tribulation saints…

let me start with this. your research states the pacific ocean is 1/3 the surface of the earth. this is true. but, and a BIG but surface area does not equal volume area. further more the recent speculations suggest that less than 5% of the water is considered “clean” enough to drink without some form of filtering/ we surpassed 1/3 probably in the 1970′s when acid rain poured from the skies

I do believe it’s possible for the Fukushima disaster to be THE environmental disaster that could possible impact the existence of mankind as we know it today. The effects of radiation on man and everything around us will likely lead to mutations and death due to radiation related illnesses…
Oddly enough mutations are the least of our problems, because our dna is self repairing to some extent, meaning over time (generations) radiation caused mutations revert back to what they were originally. The main problem with mutations is our own revulsion, so future generations will have to have way more compassion for the affected than we do.

Ten years???? The earthquake took place in 2011, two years ago, not 10. And it will never be the same again, to put it into perspective plutonium has a half life of 80 million years. That means in 80 million years time, it will be half as radioactive as it is today. It will take billions of years to become inert., Even if they could prevent any more of it leaking into the environment the damage has already been done, for all intents and purposes, that part of the world is a permanent write off. I don’t think you understand the magnitude of this disaster, it will pollute the entire world, guaranteed, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it with our current technology.
The major contaminant is Cesium 137; half-life of 30.17 years. Plutonium is not the issue with Pacific contamination. It will take at least until 2014 or 2015 for Cesium to reach the West Coast via currents and even after 10 years, a large portion will be trapped by currents in the North Pacific gyre.

There is a serious misunderstanding in what was stated regarding the Pacific Ocean and what you are extending that to say.
The references used state that the Pacific encompasses one-third of the SURFACE of the earth. Those surfaces of the earth include the lands, mountains, glaciers and yes, even the waters. So mathematically, 1/3 is correct in its percentage of ALL areas covered, but that 1/3 does not extend itself to also represent 1/3 of all the waters. That is like saying that if Cocoa Puffs represents 33% of Post’s cereal line, one then states that Cocoa Puffs sells 33% of all cereals.
