From the Bobby Powell: Steve Fletcher is a friend of mine, a Biblically knowledgeable man who I am sure loves the Lord with all of his heart. As much as it pains me to say it, Steve’s latest attempt at justifying his “revelation from the Lord,” setting January 26th as the date for the Rapture, is just too much.
Out of respect for Steve’s knowledge I let him have his say on a previous episode of The Truth Is Viral, proclaiming Comet ISON as the “Sign of the coming of the Son of Man.” At that point, even though I disagreed with major parts of his theory, Steve was not setting a date – and nobody’s salvation was at risk – so I felt there was no harm in letting Steve say what he felt led to say.
I can no longer in good conscience publish anything originating from Steve Fletcher. I am not, however, going to throw my friend under the bus and jump on any band wagon to lynch him. I can guarantee you that Steve is going to be beating himself up for quite a while. I’m sure that Steve believed what he was saying and that he never meant to harm anyone.
I apologize to my viewers. I could see Steve was grasping at straws as soon as ISON fizzled, but I felt that if he was indeed a false prophet then he would be exposed as such soon enough. I should have stepped in sooner, for everyone’s sake..
God bless and Semper Fi,
Bobby
