Although scholars have agreed that a literal interpretation of the Apocalyptic vision as outlined above is possible, it does not mean that every individual of the Apocalyptic age (end times, Revelation) is deceived by the toxic drink of the Harlot’s potion; rather, as with the Egyptians of the Exodus period (‘[That] would not believe anything by reason of the φαρμακείας pharmakeias’ the ‘drug enchantments)’ (Wisdom 18:13)), the nations are deceived as much by the ‘charm’ ‘trickery’ ‘spell’ of pro-drug abuse disinformatiom (sublimation* or psyche) and the contrasting ‘false religious teaching’ of the age than as much to any national (endemic) or individual drug-bondage alone.

‘The acts of a sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, (πορνεία porn -eia ‘harlotry/pornography’) impurity and debauchery, Idolatry and witchcraft (NKJV ‘sorcery’ from the Greek φαρμακία pharmakia ‘enchantment with drugs’)…hatred…jealousy…envy…orgies and the like’.

No fewer than 30 further occurrences (including the Apocryphal references) in the Greek Old Testament (LXX) this ancient word φάρμακία, ‘drug enchantment’, generally translated ‘sorcery’ in the English versions, is further reciprocated in many of the Early Christian Writings.

The New Testament cites the fallen Watchers as sinful angels (see 2 St. Peter 2:4, and Jude 1:6.) afterward trapped in the the underworld prison of Tartarus (τάρταρος, 2 St. Peter 2:4 Gk) awaiting the final judgement (the Great White Throne). (Enoch 10:12 coincides with Revelation 20:11-12).
The Nephilim Giants are seen as annihilated during the Great Flood. Their disembodied spirits damned as demons to roam the earth, and corrupt it until the time of the last judgement.
It is recorded in an ancient historical commentary titled the Jewish Haggada that Noah, who was favoured of God and saved from the flood, also wrote a lost thesis on medicine based on knowledge gained from the antediluvian world; which is, the ‘ancient world’ of the ancients (Nephilim/Fallen Angels). The Nephilim that were produced by the angel/mankind marriage were much different from either of their parents. This, too, went against God’s plan for the Earth in which each animal and human being was to reproduce ‘after its own kind’. This is perhaps the best demonstration that the parents of these creatures were not simply descendants of Cain and Seth. Had they been, they would have produced human offspring, rather than the Nephilim. The Nephilim were more than simply large beings or giants. When the Greek Septuagint was created, the Hebrew word Nephilim was translated into Greek as gegenes. This is the same word used in Greek mythology for the ‘Titans’, creatures created through the interbreeding of the Greek gods and human beings. (The English words ‘genes’ and ‘genetics’ are built around the same root word as gegenes; genea means ‘bread’ or ‘kind’.)
Isaiah 26:13-14: “O Lord our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name. They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased [Rephaim], they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.”
The word Rephaim has been translated to mean deceased; however, this word can also mean ‘giants’ or Nephilim. And when one reads it as such, it takes on a much different meaning. This reading reveals why God found it necessary to destroy these creatures from the Earth in order to save mankind. The reason is that the giants created by the interbreeding of humans and angels will not ‘live again’, i.e., they won’t partake in the resurrection of the dead. For some reason the Rephaim will not be brought back to life for judgment. As such, they enable Satan to destroy mankind by robbing people of the ability to be resurrected to eternal life. For the same reason, it was essential for the Israelites to wipe out the Nephilim which they found in the Promised Land. Unfortunately, they did not appear to succeed (or, if they did, Satan was able to make an ‘end run’ around the actions to produce more Nephilim throughout the world following this period). With the information Isaiah reveals about the giants, we now see that the Nephilim could not be resurrected and also influence people to do evil. Because the Bible makes it clear that the offspring of the Nephilim were also giants, this situation undoubtedly snowballed with more interbreeding between the giants and human beings as well as through the wickedness the Nephilim exerted on those around them. The older I get, the more abundantly easy it becomes for me to discern the right and the wrong of a Scriptural dispute. The party who strikes the accusatory and snobbish tone you have just adopted, is always wrong.
If you fail to see that the Sons of God are in fact the author of the seed which spawned the Men of Renown — then I’m just not sure how you make sense of the entire Old Testament narrative. Here is every instance of the term Sons of God found in Scripture. ESPECIALLY telling is Job 38:7 — not that the other verses from Job should leave much room for doubt:

You can’t honestly believe that the Bible is simply speaking about ‘ungodly men’ after what I just posted.

And in case you were wondering, God made like animals of different breeds capable of reproducing. For example, horses can propagate with other mammals of the equidae classification (the taxonomic ‘horse family), including donkeys and zebras. It would not have ‘provoked the Lord’ for this type of animal breeding to have taken place, as God Himself made the animals able to do this. If, on the other hand, the Watchers were crossing species boundaries by mixing incompatible animals of one species with the other, such as pig DNA with humans like science is doing today, this would have been a different matter and may cast light on the numerous ancient stories of mythical beings of variant-species manufacturing that fit perfectly within the records of what the Watchers were accomplishing. Understandably, this kind of chimera-making would have ‘provoked the Lord’, and raises the serious question of why the Watchers would have risked eternal damnation by tinkering with God’s creation in this way. God had placed boundaries between the species and strictly ordered that ‘each kind’ reproduce only after its ‘own kind’. Was the motive of the Watchers to break these rules simply the desire to rebel, to assault God’s creative genius through biologically altering what He had made? Or was something of deeper significance behind the activity?

I understand exactly where you are coming from.. Jesus taught that we would be hated for his Word so our churches chastising those who are aware of the times should reveal to us their true character. Whether they have succumbed to the temptations of Satan or have been duped, these preachers have been told to ignore any gloomy, end times prophecy because such teaching is generally not allowed in academia or supported by those who provide funding for the ministry. It’s sad to see…really… Churches, and people like you, focus on the good Word but these watered down, cookie cutter teachings will not equip, strengthen, enlighten, or draw people closer to the truth but further away from it. That is the first thing I’ve noticed from you Omega that I have a different view on. But then again, I have a different view than the orthodox view on this particular verse.
I realize this is tangential to your lopsided
debate with xvleo, but for what it is worth, here is a different take on REV 12:4:
I don’t believe the dragon knocking a third of the stars down to earth with his tail speaks to Satan deceiving a third of the angels. I believe the dragon knocking down a third of the stars to the earth with his tail speaks to war breaking out in heaven and the dragon not only knocks down a third of the stars to the earth, but he stomps on them. For speaking of the little horn in Daniel (who corresponds with the beast), it says:
“And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.”

Evangelicals are brainwashed, just like jehovah’s witnesses , scientologists, church going protestants, and even catholics of which i am, but old school, where you are taught to nurture your relationship with christ, the father and the holy spirit, not your preacher and his doctrine. I very well could be wrong…I’ve got mixed views on it myself, but I am always open to their being a new understanding. I try to use other apocryphal texts like Enoch, Jubilees, and Jasher to get a better understanding of those things that the Bible skips right over. Obviously, I consider these with a grain of salt because they aren’t the official Word of God. So I could be wrong. Until this moment, that was simply the theory that made the most sense to me, but I will definitely have to reconsider and keep an open mind. I hope that you continue to show me when I could be wrong, the last thing that I want to do is minister a false message. I’ll do my homework before I make that statement again.
To me, it has seemed as if there is a pattern between the number (1/3..33.33) and ‘rebellion’. Here’s a few examples:
Enoch describes the angels as stars (1 En 86:3).
Jasher 9:26: “And all these people and all the families divided themselves in three parts; the first said We will ascend into heaven and fight against him; the second said, We will ascend to heaven and place our own gods there and serve them; and the third part said, We will ascend to heaven and smite him with bows and spears; and God knew all their works and all their evil thoughts, and he saw the city and the tower which they were building.”
Enoch 6:4-6: “Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.’ 5. Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. 6. And they were in all two hundred; who descended ⌈in the days⌉ of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.”
Mount Herman of the Golan Heights in the land of Phoenicia (modern day Syria), is known throughout ancient mythology as the first location where the fallen angels fell to Earth. This is supported by the Book of Enoch and many of the other apocryphal texts discovered in 1947 with the Dead Sea Scrolls. What’s interesting is that Mount Herman is located exactly at 33.33° North and 33.33° East; exactly 2012 nautical miles from the equator and 2012 nautical miles from the prime meridian (look at David Flynn’s work). Considering the occult theology behind the number ’33′ that would seem to be more than a fascinating coincidence. Without being given a direct answer to this question in the Word of God, I am left to speculate whether the ’1/3 of the stars’ from Revelation 12:4 were referring to those involved with the initial rebellion.
