NASA WARNS; Civilization headed for ‘irreversible collapse’

(Before It's News)

A new study sponsored by Nasa’s Goddard Space Flight Center has highlighted the prospect that global industrial civilization could collapse in coming decades due to unsustainable resource exploitation and increasingly unequal wealth distribution.

Noting that warnings of ‘collapse’ are often seen to be fringe or controversial, the study attempts to make sense of compelling historical data showing that “the process of rise-and-collapse is actually a recurrent cycle found throughout history.” Cases of severe civilization disruption due to “precipitous collapse – often lasting centuries – have been quite common.”

The research project is based on a new cross-disciplinary ‘Human And Nature DYnamical’ (HANDY) model, led by applied mathematician Safa Motesharri of the US National Science Foundation-supported National Sociology-Environmental Synthesis Center, in association with a team of natural and social scientists. The study based on the HANDY model has been accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed Elsevier journal, Ecological Economics.

It finds that according to the historical record even advanced, complex civilizations are susceptible to collapse, raising questions about the sustainability of modern civilization:

“The fall of the Roman Empire, and the equally (if not more) advanced Han, Mauryan, and Gupta Empires, as well as so many advanced Mesopotamian Empires, are all testimony to the fact that advanced, sophisticated, complex, and creative civilizations can be both fragile and impermanent.”

The NASA-funded HANDY model offers a highly credible wake-up call to governments, corporations and business – and consumers – to recognise that ‘business as usual’ cannot be sustained, and that policy and structural changes are required immediately.

Well der. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that infinite growth in a finite world is a recipe for disaster.

The Roman empire was destroyed by Patricians, a class in Rome who used politics to line their pockets, wage wars with other countries and manipulate the republic to keep power away from the poor, the sick and minorities. They destroyed democracy then and they are doing the same today.

We do not have democracies, we have democracy in moderation, which is actually none at all we have no say in anything important, it’s a dictatorship designed by the tiny few, for the tiny few.

Jesus hated them, he overturned their loan shark tables, spoke against them, told people to pray in a closet not in public, to meet in fellowship anywhere pull up a log or a rock = a church. Jesus was an anarchist = democrat. He was against hierarchies = dictatorships.

    Wake up already.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharisees

The Pharisees were at various times a political party, a social movement, and a school of thought in the Holy Land during the Second Temple period, beginning under the Hasmonean dynasty (140–37 BCE) in the wake of the Maccabean Revolt. After the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, Pharisaic beliefs became the liturgical and ritualistic basis for Rabbinic Judaism (commonly known as simply Judaism).

Your OT bible is based on a political thought and belief intolerant dictatorship based on Pharaohic godship… Pharisees that started life c140 bce and later changed their name to Judaism. They have no copies of their laws, Rabbinical means ‘word of mouth’, eg making it up as you go, they only have a much later Greek version. They have nothing to do with the Israelites or Jesus, in fact they are polar opposites.

Rome was founded as a Republic a democracy. Patricians were a class in Rome who used politics to line their pockets, waged war to loot other countries and manipulated the Republic to keep power away from the poor, the sick and minorities. They destroyed democracy. Deja Vu?

There are two ways of running things, a hierarchy dictator godship, or a democracy where everyone is a god with equal say as everyone else. Every time a democracy is created, eg, Rome, Jesus with his anti Pharisees debt enslavement dictatorship modality, America the land of the free, the dictators ensure it’s destroyed before it gets started. We have known only dictatorship rule, even our modern democracies are very limited, we have no say in anything important.

It’s about time we drew a line through the dictatorship modality experiments as a complete failure, once and for all time. They only serve the people running the show at everyone else’s expense.
