Jews did not spread lamb’s blood over the doors in Egypt at the time of Passover.
Israelites are not Jews, in fact no one was called by the name Jew then.
No one in scripture is referred to as a Jew until the 12th book of the bible Kings II where the Untied Kingdom of Israel is split into two nations, ten tribe-d Israel to the north and Judea to the south.
The word Jew has several meanings and does not necessarily mean someone born of Judah although that could be the case.
Since Edom became part of Judea, they also took up the religion of the Pharisees which by the way is not the teachings of Moses but Babylonian Talmudism which was then oral but was codified in 500AD.
Jew can mean someone who was a living in Judea and Edom comes to mind besides Benjamin and Judah.
Jew today is most specific to followers of Judaism and are proselytes to the religions from varying sources down through history.

Ex 12:21-24
21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
