What in the World Is God Doing?

Here in America we have a culture that has not been slam-dunked very much in past decades. Not since the Civil War have we fought wars on our own land, and of course, that one was against each other. We seem to have developed a mindset that nothing should go wrong, and America will survive forever and ever. But something seems to be going wrong, nevertheless. Are we collectively thinking, “What is God doing?” (That is, by those who are thinking with any awareness at all.)
The sovereignty of God over the entire world is declared by the psalmist in Psalm 62:11, “God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.” And further, in Psalm 75:6-8, he tells us that it is God who puts leaders in place to bring judgment upon sinfulness, for He has a purpose to forward His plans and appointed times.
As Daniel sought the Lord for answers about Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, he recorded this:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him” (Daniel 2:20-22).
God knows the end from the beginning, this is well-established in the Bible and for those who have been paying attention; the facts on the ground—the compelling evidences—are exploding before our eyes. For example, after the weekend of June 7-8, 2014, when Pope Francis had met with the Palestine leader, Abbas and the president of Israel, Peres at the Vatican to pray for peace, and with Utah Senator Mike Lee representing the Mormons, and Joel Osteen, apparently representing Protestants, this headline appeared:
“Pope Francis on Frantic Quest to Unite All Religions Under Rome.” [1]
Beginning Where It All Started
According to Titus 1:2 God had a plan of redemption for mankind in place before time began. So He knew before creation that His highest creation, man, would fall away and need to be rescued from his rebellion against his Creator. It is too much for this finite mind to grasp how One who is eternal and always is, never was, can map out a plan for mankind in blocks of time and arrive at a predicted ending result. But God did it! He knows the end from the beginning, and vice versa.
When man rebelled, he took the bait from the devil, hook, line and sinker, as the saying goes. The first two offspring of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, revealed in their lives a division that permeates mankind to this very day—a lineage of faith and one of works of the flesh. Cain murdered Abel! Later on one of God’s spokesmen would write down the core method of His overall plan: “The just shall live by his faith” (Habakkuk 2:4).
But the principle of faith ruled in the relationship from the very beginning.
In succeeding segments of time various effects of man’s rebellion were dealt with, including the judgments of Noah’s flood and later, the Tower of Babel and the confusion of tongues that scattered mankind into all the world. Hidden in the details of those and other interchanges between man and God were foreshadows of things to come. In all of these periods of time God miraculously held together and maintained that thread line of faith from Adam to his son, Seth, who replaced Abel, and following to succeeding generations.
At this point, Stephen’s message to the religious leaders after the resurrection of Jesus gives us a concise summary from the calling forth of Abraham up to that time in Jewish history. Look it up in Acts 6:8 to 7:60. Here you will see the struggles of the Hebrew nation, the promise of a coming prophet like Moses and their rejection of Him when He did not come as a conquering sovereign who would free them from bondage to Rome. Or, was it because He exposed their self-righteous sinfulness?
When Moses was given the law on Mount Sinai and later, as recorded in Leviticus 23, God gave him instructions for seven annual festivals that were to be celebrated on specific days every year. It was a package deal and marked the Hebrew calendar for all years following that time. The feasts started with the Passover celebration, which was strong in their memory, having been the final straw that broke the hold over the Hebrews by the Egyptian Pharaoh. But this festival also pointed to a future Passover that would fulfill the foreshadowing promise in the feast.
That first feast was fulfilled when Jesus died on the cross, and two immediately afterward were the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Feast of First Fruits. As Jesus was in the grave for three days and nights, then rose again, bodily, He also fulfilled those two portraying festivals. Fifty days later the Feast of Pentecost was celebrated and the promise of the Holy Spirit to indwell believers was fulfilled. These four of the seven feasts had been fulfilled, and Stephen was among that first wave of believers who then “turned the world upside down!”
The disciples had gathered around Jesus just before He ascended to heaven and asked Him if He was going to restore the kingdom to Israel at that time. Jesus indicated that that was for another time and season and directed them to another purpose, that of being witnesses to Him throughout the whole world. Thus began the project that James describes in Acts 15:14 as a time when God would “take out of the Gentiles a people for His name.” Paul later declares, in Romans 11:25, that this period of time would continue until “the fullness of the Gentiles has come in,” and Israel would be blinded in part to the promises of the gospel until that “fullness” was accomplished. These subsequent centuries, then, have seen the carrying out of that commission of Acts 1:8.
Luke records in his gospel account these words of Jesus: “And they [of Israel] will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled” (Luke 21:24). He sums up the scattering of all Jews from their land after the destruction of Jerusalem and their temple in 70 A.D. and their final uprising and defeat in 136 A.D. In the words of the prophets God had told them this would happen and that in the latter days He would restore them to their land (Ezekiel 36).
Jesus told the disciples a parable of the fig tree:
“Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place” (Luke 21:29-32).
It is broadly recognized that Jesus is referring to Israel as the fig tree, and its budding with new life as pointing to Israel’s restoration as a nation among the nations. Israel was recognized as a sovereign nation by the United Nations on May 14, 1948. In the passage above we can see that this “budding of the fig tree” means that God’s time for the completion of the “times of the Gentiles” is nearing its end. Jesus says that the generation alive at the time of the budding will see all things that are to come to pass until Jesus returns again. The budding of “other trees” in that parable could be referring to the growing formation of the one world government.
If you could squeeze the centuries since the crucifixion into the layout of one Jewish calendar year with its marked feast days, you would see the first sixty days, generally, covering the times of the first four feasts, then a lengthy period of time that matches that period of time that some call the age of grace, the time when God is taking out of the Gentiles a people for His name. Then you would see that the summer months having neared their end and the final harvest days are approaching. You would also see the final three feasts marked on the calendar and note that their fulfillments have not happened yet, but this generation has not ended. Jesus said “when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near” (Luke 21:31).

I’m pretty sure by now that most if not all people, religious or otherwise, deep down know that no God would give this beautiful blue planet, to a species like ours.
This only serves the logic that a God cannot and does not exist as men see it.
Whilst warring factions of opposing and sometimes similar religious beliefs, tear this world apart through violence and greed, ultimately to prove who has the most peacefull and righteous God, there can never exist a force of pure love.

God created this beautiful blue planet for us specifically. But without the freedom to choose whether to accept or reject God, to love or hate God, people would be robots and thus incapable of true love.
The choice mankind has made is not God’s fault.
But God did not leave us to our choices forever, slaves to evil and misery. He himself came as one of us to pay the ultimate price and redeem us… but not by force. Love must be freely given, so each of us must choose personally whether to accept or reject God on his terms, to escape forever a world of woe.
So God does indeed exist… not as some esoteric concept or impersonal force, but as the Creator and Author of everything good. Far from “an indoctrinated control system”, which is a charge that could be made against every other belief including atheism, this is quite reaonable and rational. No one is less prone to “programming”, such that anyone pointing fingers at others is just as programmed.
To say also that anyone who doesn’t see things your way must be morons is proof enough that you are as programmed as anyone else.

Who are the great leaders in western and world history, starting with the single greatest influence in the history of mankind, bar none, and that is the man from Galilee whose birthday we celebrate in the west every December, the one western civilization divides its timeline by, as in B.C. + A.D., I think you know whom I’m talking about, the Babe born in the manger because there was no room at the inn! Any atheist there? Nope!
Ok, how about Moses then, who brought down from the mountain the very commandments of God, any atheist there? Nope!
Ok, so far atheists are 0-2. So let’s move on to the rest of the richness and greatness of western civilization. Look at all the great artists in history, those who have created masterpieces, artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, etc. is there an atheist on that list? Nope!
Now what was the inspiration of these masterpiece painters I just listed? God and the Holy Bible of course. But in the camp of atheist artists, is there great inspiration in that camp? Nope! Their inspirations are base, earthly things. So “art” from atheists consists of things like homosexual erotica, a crucifix in a jar of urine, dung on a painting, etc. And with the darkened minds in our society today, people are unable to distinguish between true art and crap. A hundred years ago, if an “artist” brought a literal bucket of crap into an art gallery and tried to pass it off as art, they would have rightly kicked him out and said “that’s not art, that’s a bucket of crap!”. But today, I’m sure a modern atheist “artist” could pass off a bucket of crap as art by inserting a cross in it and there would be other atheists trying to pass the guy off as a genius.
Look at the truly great literature in western history, the works of Dante, Milton, Shakespeare, etc., is there an atheist in that list? Nope! In ALL the arts (writing, painting, music, etc.), are there any truly great, uplifting works from atheists in any of these? Nope!
It is as the classical composer Brahms said about atheists: no atheist has ever been or ever will be a great composer.
Now why is that? Why can’t the atheist camp produce great works of art in literature, music, painting, etc.?
HERE IS WHY ATHEISTS CAN’T PRODUCE UPLIFTING WORKS OF ART:
The atheist cannot produce uplifting works because of his beliefs. That is, because art reflects the inspiration of the artist, any inspiration emanating from an atheist artist can only reflect base, coarse, earthly things and not uplifting, heavenly things. Therefore, instead of uplifting and inspiring, atheists can only degrade and debase. Such is the folly and foolishness of atheism.
Besides being absent from the categories of great leaders in world history and great art through the ages, atheism is absent in the rest of the greatness of western civilization as well. Look for example at all the great architecture in history, the historic cathedrals and such, were any of them designed by atheists? Nope!
Look at the founders of the Ivy League colleges in America, were any of them atheists? Guess what? Nope!
And have a look at all the hospitals and benevolent organizations in history and once again, atheists come up pitifully and pathetically short. But that is no mystery. For look at what a darkened mind it was that came up with the theory on the origin of species which brought science into its dark ages. For in such a darkened mind, one devoid of God, there is none of that uplifting and noble stuff like Jesus taught us about caring for the least among us. Instead, the theory of evolution was spawned in a darkened mind that harbored and elevated inhumanity over love and goodness. For not only was Darwin someone who considered blacks less evolved than whites and closer to apes, but in stark contrast to the teachings of Jesus, love for the least among us was not altruistic behavior to be pursued according to Darwin. Consider the following quote from Darwin:
“With savages, the weak in body or mind are soon eliminated; and those that survive commonly exhibit a vigorous state of health. We civilised men, on the other hand, do our utmost to check the process of elimination; we build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed, and the sick; we institute poor-laws; and our medical men exert their utmost skill to save the life of every one to the last moment. There is reason to believe that vaccination has preserved thousands, who from a weak constitution would formerly have succumbed to small-pox. Thus the weak members of civilised societies propagate their kind. No one who has attended to the breeding of domestic animals will doubt that this must be highly injurious to the race of man. It is surprising how soon a want of care, or care wrongly directed, leads to the degeneration of a domestic race; but excepting in the case of man himself, hardly any one is so ignorant as to allow his worst animals to breed.”

Quite the noble philosophy, eh? Is it any wonder there are no benevolent organizations or hospitals founded by atheists? And that’s not to mention that wonder philosophy of eugenics, which contains parts and parcels of the theory of evolution.
The lesson learned here is all the movers and shakers of western civilization (Jesus, Moses, etc.), the cream of the artistic crop in western civilization (Shakespeare, Michelangelo, Beethoven, Shakespeare, da Vinci, Rembrandt, Milton, etc.), and the great leaders of American history (George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, etc.), were all inspired by and believers of the Bible and their inspiration came from above.
The evidence is overwhelming to say the least that western history itself is testament to the folly and foolishness of atheism. It is no wonder that one of the greatest scientists in history, Sir Isaac Newton, called atheism senseless and odious.
Excellent work, am123. As the saying goes, “The devil’s in the details”. Ugly facts and embarrassing data are the death of atheist claims to advancement, superiority, and even logic. They do everything they hate about theists: they have priests in white lab coats, holy writings that are not to be disbelieved, ideas they consider dangerous, heretics who dare to allow data harmful to their dogma to be expressed, excommunication of said heretics, attempts to use law to force their beliefs down everyone’s throats, bullying and mockery of infidels, and everything else that they think is only for the “un-free thinkers”.
Taken to its logical conclusion, atheists should be the most immoral, ruthless, cold, and destructive members of society. But like the theists they despise, they rarely live consistently with their stated unbelief. There is no survival advantage in showing compassion for others, especially if they do not contribute to the collective (e.g. the crippled or sick, who according to natural selection should just die for the sake of the gene pool). True, pure atheism should only be self-absorbed and only concerned with survival and reproduction. What can atheism possibly offer to justify concern for the environment? After all, since there is no basis for morality, who cares whether the world survives beyond the individual’s lifespan? Who cares whether the human race continues?

If you, unlike Lucifer, fear God and have no wish to destroy and scorn his creation in proud disgust and cause a storming of heaven then you ARE fighting on the side of God.
When you die, you are DEAD. Nothing survives death. When you die, your thoughts do perish. The soul (life) that sinneth, it itself will die. These are all in scriptures. So there is NO immortal soul, and you can’t meet anyone when you die except worms. Secondly, the scriptures state “no man has seen God and lived”. Thirdly, only 144,000 will EVER go to heaven. The rest are to be resurrected and judged, in a paradise Earth. After that first thousand years after Armageddon, the resurrections will be completed. During that 1000 years, the Earth will be transformed, slowly, into that paradise that was originally found in Eden. And fourth, yes, God (Jehovah) DOES exist. If you don’t believe it, look in the mirror. See anything? Well, God created you, and the mirror, and the house the mirror is in, and the Earth, and the universe, and EVERYTHING. So, if God didn’t exist, how are you reading this?

Heaven on earth is just a parable. It comes from the idea of God being pushed away from earth by those that would have built the tower of Babel in order to storm heaven. You know the NT was written in Greek, right? So NO English or Latin words appear in the earliest ms. Which translated or transliterated words get used as handy labels has nothing to do with trying to find a Latin word with a later-acquired English useage in a Greek text.
