John Little – OmegaShock.com

On Friday, I was horrified to hear two preachers repeat and reaffirm an abominable heresy that will lead their followers to a certain decision – one that will result in an eternity in Hell. And, these were two preachers that I liked and respected.

I am still shocked and outraged, but I’ve had time to reflect on how and why they came to believe and preach such an abomination. It is as natural as it is awful, and my hope is that you will avoid their errors by submitting yourself to the direction of the Holy Spirit as you read your Bible.

Twisting the Bible – Part 1 – A Bit of History

Heresy is nothing new. Even just a few years after the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, heretics were attempting to redefine His message. We had all kinds of evil mischief going on, and it threatened to tear the church apart.

In fact, it DID tear apart the church. But, those who revered the words of God were unmoved by these heresies – which is why the church exists today. But, even though heresy is not new, there is something different about the heresies that we struggle with now.

Have you noticed that so many heretical ideas and thoughts have their roots in the 1800s?

19th Century Evil

I have. And, it’s not just heresy that has its ugly beginning in the 19th century:

  • Karl Marx, never reached the 20th century, but we struggle with Socialism and Communism today.

  • Charles Darwin, the fool and father of the THEORY of evolution, died in 1882. And, his idiocy still does tremendous harm, everywhere in the world.

  • Utilitarianism redefined the idea of ethics in the late 18th century, and it is a guiding principle of the psychopath.

  • The Illuminati consolidated its hold on Freemasonry in the 1800s and went on to bend that organization to its will. And, that vile organization is preparing itself to introduce the world to the Antichrist.

I could go on and on about the secular foolishness spawned by the 1800s, but I’ll stop here, because I’m more interested in religious foolishness.

Religious Movements

All of the following religious movements have their roots in the 1800s:

  • Dispensationalism

  • Charismatic Movement

  • Seventh Day Adventism

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses

  • Christian Science

  • The Bahai

  • Landmarkism

  • Reform and Conservative Judaism

  • New Apostolic Church

  • Secular Zionism

  • Salvation Army

  • Ordo Templi Orientis

  • Plymouth Brethren

  • Mormonism

  • Millerism

  • Christian Israelite Church

  • Modern Theosophy

THAT is just the stuff that I could think of off the top of my head. Some of the above is pure heresy – others, less so. Some may not be heretical at all. In fact, I can personally attest to the fact that more than one of those is NOT heretical (although, maybe somewhat foolish).

However, at this moment, I don’t want to deal with what is heretical. I just want to point out that a truly massive number of religious movements sprang out of the 19th century, and with it came a massive amount of heresy.

How did all of this happen?

The industrial printing press.

The Printing Press

The steam-powered printing press made newspapers and books affordable, so people read them. News and new books were reaching the average person. The Age of Enlightenment had escaped the ivory tower and grabbed a hold of the man (and woman) on the street.

Unfortunately, many of the ‘Christian Books’ being printed, were offering corrupted views of the Bible. All kinds of neo-Christian ideas were being gobbled up by society, spawning all kinds of movements.

Even those books that contained scriptural ideas were causing trouble.

Why?

Because people weren’t reading their Bible and relying on the Holy Spirit to guide them. Even though these books were ABOUT the Bible, they WERE NOT the Bible.

My namesake, John the Apostle, had something to say about that:

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.1 John 2:26-27

People didn’t need the Holy Spirit, anymore. They had books to explain everything that they ‘needed to know’. A habit of ignoring the direction of the Holy Spirit will never end well. And indeed, it hasn’t.

So, as I talk tomorrow about those that twist the Bible, remember that much of the root of this ‘Bible twisting’ comes from the 1800s and the rise of the industrial printing press.

Are you ready for this?

Do you realize that when scientists use the word theory they are talking about a thing which has passed the Scientific Method. It is considered fact when the thing is announced as a “complete theory.” Your use of theory is most often confused with ideas, or hypotheses, speculative writings and so forth. To hear you put-down a well accepted theory by calling it a theory is ridiculous to them. School would have taught you this if your science teacher actually had science training.

    • No point in arguing with these people. They think that the flintstones was a documentary.

    • A fact is just anything that can be either proved or disproved. It is a fact that I rather than you posted your post for example. A fact that log records would prove to be an untrue fact.

Truth is when things are faithful with each other. What is observed with what was predicted or what was promised.

Anyone who thinks a theory is a fact shouldn’t lecture others about science.
