Russia has quietly reached an agreement with Cuba to reopen a Soviet-era spy base on America’s doorstep, amid souring relations between Moscow and Washington.
The deal to reopen the signals intelligence facility in Lourdes, south of Havana, was agreed in principle during president Vladimir Putin’s visit to the island as part of a Latin American tour last week, according to the newspaper Kommersant.
Opened in 1967, the Lourdes facility was the Soviet Union’s largest foreign base, a mere 155 miles from the US coast. It employed up to 3,000 military and intelligence personnel to intercept a wide array of American telephone and radio communications, but Putin announced its closure in 2001 because it was too expensive – Russia had been paying $200m (£117m) a year in rent – and in response to US demands. It’s a tit-for-tat going on right now. More along the lines of Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. One great big chessboard. Pieces moving into place.
What it seems to me, is that it’s all a rouse. Everything is really.
An old war ploy had a country ‘seem’ defenseless (take away populous guns?), even to the point of making an opening in their gates; as to allow the enemy to ‘come right on in’ (Southern borders open?). Then out of nowhere, the enemy was surrounded. There was always a two-prong defense line in the works.
I’m weary of those that cry out for Peace…Peace…and in the same breath decry the opposite with their actions.
Especially when they buy up crap loads of ammo, MRE’s, and construct many DUMBS. It’s not for ‘just in case’, when it gets to that point, you can be sure they are covering their asses, the kings, queens, bishops, are going to be well hidden, and the ultimate game ensues with us mere pawns being caught in the crossfire.

Desperation. America is running out of allies because of it’s global bully tactics, the world is sick to death of your warmongering. A deal with Cuba is not going to happen, Cuba just laughed in your face, they’ve already made a deal with Russia many years ago after America tried to bully them out of control of their canal so America could control who could take a short cut instead of having to sail around the cape.. America tries to bully everyone, no more, enough already.
If America had any sense it would stop rocking the boat because Putin now holds all the cards. America has pushed it’s greed to the point your economy is teetering on the edge, so all he has to do is tell America to get stuffed with it’s loan payments,.. end of America. Basically America is relying on Russia to continue paying what they borrowed from the Russian revolution all other economies having been busted via American greed devaluing it’s currency by making money out of thin air in a ‘Fiat currency system’. Russia’s currency is still gold based and backed by China which is also gold based… You reap what you sow, bon appetit.
