But one thing I do know: it has too many words.

My answer would not be so lengthy:
The “king of the South” of Chapter 11, verses 40-45 of the Book of Daniel is the United States and its allies; whereas the “king of the North” is Russia and its allies.
Just open your eyes.
After Chapter 11, verses 40-45 comes Chapter 12, verse 1.
And verse 9.
