Pay close attenton to what you are about to read. The Word of God is alive and God’s Word is forever! When people sin and turn away from God and worship other gods, all hell will break loose! God is patient, loving, and compassionate, but when a nation does not repent, unfortunately, there are dire consequences. The Bible proves this time and again. America will not repent as a whole nation. Instead, this great harlot continues selling herself, and her body (the body of Christ who has fallen and been given to false gods), to Satan!
Do keep in mind that we are in a Shemitah year. After the Shemitah ends, God’s judgement comes:
Then they will answer, ‘Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them; therefore He has brought all this calamity on them.’” —2 Chronicles 7:22

For three years now, and growing much worse (or should I say there is a severe ‘lack of anything growing’ as this would be more appropriate), California has been in a state of, according to their government website, ‘unprecedented drought’.

With California facing one of the most severe droughts on record, Governor Brown declared a drought State of Emergency in January and directed state officials to take all necessary actions to prepare for water shortages. The state has continued to lead the way to make sure California is able to cope with an unprecedented drought (emphasis added by me).
First, some quick facts so you can begin to understand the importance of what is going on in regards to this drought in California. I am sure there are many of you who do not understand the potential calamity facing us, and you need to understand this because, if things do not change in one year, this will have a massive impact not only on the United States of America, but the world. This could cause a tailspin of events that are almost unimaginable—economic collapse, starvation, overpopulation in other states, which would result in other problems, rioting, martial law, and general overall chaos everywhere. You get the picture.
Food Facts
California has been the number one food and agricultural producer in the United States for more than 50 consecutive years.
More than half the nation’s fruit, nuts, and vegetables come from here.
California is the nation’s number one dairy state.
California’s leading commodity is milk and cream. Grapes are second.
California’s leading export crop is almonds.
Nationally, products exclusively grown (99% or more) in California include almonds, artichokes, dates, figs, kiwifruit, olives, persimmons, pistachios, prunes, raisins, clovers, and walnuts.

Now let’s look at how God uses drought and famine as a form of judgement and warning to get the attention of the unrepentant people.
As the Israelites wandered in the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land, God gave them the Ten Commandments, together with many sundry laws. He warned Israel to obey them and if they did not then one of the consequences would be drought—
‘The heaven which is over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you iron. And the Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust …’ (Deut 28.23,24) ‘If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain …’ (2 Chron 7.13)
But if they sought God and turned away from their rebellious ways, then God promised to ‘heal their land’ (2 Chron 7.14).
And when some Israelites returned from exile in Babylon, they were more interested in making nice houses than in the restoration of God’s house – the desolate temple. As a result, God caused drought, resulting in a lack of produce (Hag 1.11).

One of the judgements predicted by Isaiah refers to drought:
‘The earth will be completely laid waste … the earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers…’(Isa 24.3,4)

Despite the here-and-there rainstorms of this winter, water-supply conditions in California have grown more dire. Reservoirs, the snowpack in the Sierra and groundwater levels are all at or near historic lows. The senior water scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena wrote in the Los Angeles Times this month that the state has only about one year of water left in its reservoirs. One year. And groundwater is being pumped so rapidly for agriculture in the Central Valley that the land in some areas is literally sinking at the rate of a foot or more per year. —UT San Diego News

Add California’s water supply to your list of “things headed for imminent collapse.” The state has only one year of reserves remaining, warns Jay Famiglietti, the senior water scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Caltech.
In a widely-cited LA Times opinion piece, Famiglietti writes that “…the state has only about one year of water supply left in its reservoirs, and our strategic backup supply, groundwater, is rapidly disappearing. California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought…”

More importantly agriculture in California is being threatened dwindling our food supply drastically. According to the California Department of Food and Agriculture, “California’s agricultural abundance includes more than 400 commodities. The loss of these commodities are not only detrimental for human food consumption and surplus but may also be detrimental to the U.S. economy in a major way, adding to fears of a coming financial crisis. Not to mention all of this has brought up a new issue as rice farmers have now been offered big bucks for their water.
CBS San Francisco Bay Area News reports that the drought is forcing water price hikes as much as 33 percent for Bay Area residents.
So what will happen to all the Californians in the Southern half of the state? What will happen to Los Angeles, for example, when the state starts rationing water for only two days per week, which is already taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil?

Since things have not changed for three years, and this year, if things do not get better, they will run out of water, shouldn’t all of us as an entire nation be taking this more seriously? Shouldn’t all of us begin preparing for the worst? If somehow things do change, and it doesn’t look as if it will, wouldn’t it be better to have been prepared than for such a tragedy to befall us and not have been prepared at all?

More than 8 people survived the flood, no matter what the bible says. The flood story is part of almost every significant ancient culture. There are thousands of examples.

The Chinese Miao have an oral tradition of a flood which they say is some 4000 years old.

But there is three examples of major flood stories that are older than the bible. I am sure there are more as well but I don’t have time to search for them right now…
I think these accounts of a great flood are significant because they are speaking of humanity having to start over. I think a better question to ask is what makes the account of Noah’s flood any more significant than these older versions?

This easily accounts for the many flood narratives included in the traditions as they were passed down to many ancient cultures and civilizations.
Whether or not there are documented flood narratives demonstrably older than Genesis, is really a moot point. There probably are. The point is that Moses in no way plagiarized the material from these older sources. Moses wrote as he was inspired, by The Power responsible for The Flood. This means that one version of flood narrative can be relied upon as being absolutely accurate, whereas the others must be considered tainted by man’s uncanny inability to recount facts as they actually occurred, absent any improvisations, fabrications, embellishments, or other lies.
Ask any ten Americans what happened on 9-11 and get ten wildly divergent accountings of what happened that day. So too with accountings of The Flood; the records extant were all recorded by similarly untrustworthy sources – and there is not a single eye-witness to the events among them. Except for One.

When looking at the similar stories of the flood, among other religious texts, I can’t help but think of the “feud” between fans of Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots.
Fans of PJ, insisted that STP was nothing more than a PJ knock-off. Fans of STP claimed that this was simply not true, and that the similarity in sound was coincidence.
In an interview with Scott Weiland, he said (and I’m paraphrasing, here) “Of course we sound alike. We grew up in the same area, went to the same shows, and listened to the same bands. Would you expect us to not have a similar sound?”
The way I see it, all of the religions which feature a flood narrative, originated around the Mediterranean Ocean (same town), were exposed to traveling prophets (same bands), and trade exposed them to the traditions brought by merchants (same shows). Is it be so hard to believe that the flood narrative came from one, single source, and was “reported” on, by those who wrote the other texts? Where it originated, is open for debate. It’s not a matter of plagiarism, so much as a matter of the sharing of traditions, and stories.
That’s a pretty big question, Bill Lyle, and given Walters timely warning, that my earlier boast was overly simplistic, i’m perhaps not up to the task of answering it but i’m going to give it a shot, just the same.
Now then: you point to the multitude of flood narratives in terms of apparent similarity, and possible common source, seemingly without cognizance of how few myths actually match the Biblical account on more than a coincidental or superficial level. Here’s a, non-exhaustive list, that should get you appreciating the enormity of the task you have proposed.

Interesting stuff, however, if we variously reject the accounts that…
1 – don’t arguably predate the Biblical account.
2 – have new life being created from matter, post flood.
3 – were about overpopulation instead of wickedness.
4 – didn’t cover the entire earth.
5 – just sound whack.
6 – are merely oceans rising post ice ages.
7 – have the god(s) repenting.
8 – didn’t include an ark.
9 – are steeped in superstition.
10 – have man calling the rains.
… we find that there are few, if any, that could be classified as “similar”. Two that come to mind are the Chaldean and Transylvanian Gypsy narratives although they each struggle to surpass several of the above conditions.
There you have it my friend, for what it’s worth, and i hope it’s easier to understand than my Silver Dollar statistical analogy. My position remains that the Biblical Flood account is demonstrably unique and any myth that does come close to matching up is found to have come from cultures that had knowledge of Scripture. We could discuss specific cases if you would be so kind as to take a position but as you can see, from that link, i’m not about to start trying to debunk them all and expect you to keep reading for long.

And there were numerous such cultures, flaking and splintering away from the Narrow Path, implementing ideas and traditions of their own (mingling seed) into the Scriptural Narrative. The point is this: One account can be relied upon as factual because only one account has been protected over the millennia from the corrupting imagination of liars and their magic ink of device. As much was proven to all, with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Flood Narrative in Genesis exists, virtually verbatim, in the documentation found at Qumran as compared with extant Manuscripts of today. Minor variances of timekeeping are all there is to quibble about – namely, on which day of the month the floodwaters began to prevail and on which day they abated. No other tradition or document, no matter its antiquity, can make such a boast and support that boast with raw, magnificent evidence, as can the unchanging Scriptures as substantiated by the Dead Sea Scrolls. Nothing else can be relied upon to such an extent, in the form of documentation which can be proven, beyond and to the exclusion of all reasonable doubt, to exist today in the same informational state it existed in when it was first recorded, thousands of years ago.
[As to Scott Weiland and Eddie Vedder and any noted similarities in their musical product, I would suggest they were both infested by the same muse.]
