She also made references to killing. She had even created a world for Slenderman in MineCraft — in the game MineCraft,” the Ohio girl’s mother said. Stories of Slenderman often feature him stalking or traumatizing people. But in the Ohio case and in the Wisconsin case, fantasy turned into reality — and the Ohio mother says it should be a wakeup call for all parents.

This is the kind of story that sucks the credibility out of BIN’s site. Lack of structure and guidance on the part of the parents is the real “demon” here. They leave their kids alone for many, many hours– WTF do they expect? There is NO parent around to spend time with the kid, and I guess even if there were, they are so caught up in having their kids “like” them, plus the fact that “every other kid has this game!”, that the parents themselves can offer no real life perspective to the kids. No backbone to say to the kids, “Get out of this house and enjoy life with others”– there are lots of wholesome places where kids can meet and have fun together. rather than sit in front of their godawful big-screen playing idiotic games all day, every day. I wish I were there to say to the kid, “Get a life!”
Another “lay the blame on someone else” is at work here, and frankly I’m surprised that BIN can sell themselves out to the sensationalism of this story rather than send a clear strong message that real “Christian” parents actually take responsibility for their kids’ lives rather than let the kids try to grow up without any rules and boundaries.
