(Before It's News)
It has been said that, in warfare, ‘…battles are always fought by young men wishing they were somewhere else’.
Wishing they were somewhere that they did not have to kill or be killed, maim or be maimed, suffer or cause suffering.
Wishing they did not have to sink to such a level of inhumanity merely in order to survive.
What is offensive, however, is that, with all of the tens and hundreds of thousands of people across the Middle East who are being tortured, slaughtered, or driven from their homes because of disagreements over theological doctrine, the Inter-Faith Dialogue discussions between the monotheistic religious ‘authorities’ are always marked by an utter absence of any serious disagreements whatsoever.
Nor do these monotheistic religious ‘authorities’ wish they were somewhere else; for example, in battle; where they may be killed or grievously wounded or maimed.
Do they have no concern whatsoever for those who are suffering and dying because of the doctrines that they teach?
Can they not at least have the courage to challenge the doctrines that they have been taught and that others have been taught; in order that, perhaps, soldiers would not have to die and suffer on behalf of those doctrines?
Now, if the courage of all of these young men going into battle had been transplanted into the consciousness of the theologians; and, if the cowardice of the theologians, in never desiring to engage in even so much as a minor doctrinal conflict, had been transplanted into the soldiers over the past 40 years; millions of people in the Middle East would not have lost their lives, would not have been raped or tortured, and would not have been driven from their homes.
But the monotheistic religious ‘authorities’ are, of course, unconcerned.
After all, they recently attended an international conference on Inter-Faith Dialogue…
Where they had quite friendly interactions with people who, in the Middle East, would be killing each other.
And isn’t that what’s really important?
That, at least, we (narcissistic) theologians are not killing each other?
NO.
That is NOT what is important.
What is important is that this civilization not be exterminated because you theologians are COWARDS.
