China’s one child policy has served it’s purpose, prevention of millions of deaths, which is what was happening every time they had a famine. China has not reversed their policy but upped it to a maximum of 2 children per couple. This is because they still have too large a population for a sustainable nation. Of course it’s caused problems, like an aging population, but like all parents one would rather their kids didn’t starve to death every time there’s a famine and would willingly sacrifice their own comfort for their kids survival. Better to have at least one kid survive than all of them starve to death.
