Teachings of Jesus Christ –You must be Born Again

One of the most important teachings of Jesus Christ, is that the Spirit of Truth enables us to truly receive and walk with Christ. The Holy Spirit witnesses or confirms the truth of Jesus to us. It also empowers us to be a true and faithful witness to others with an authority that only Christ offers.

Many, if not most, are taught that becoming Born Again is a process related to the following events:

  • To simply know of Jesus, and to recite a sinners prayer.
  • To attend a church, tithe and obey the Sabbath.
  • This same group usually claims to have the infilling of the spirit.
  • They also believe that as a result of the above they are saved.
  • The problem is that without any evidence to support the transformation associated with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the claim is false.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Teachings of Jesus Christ

Although there are only two primary commandments that our Lord gave us, there are other essential teachings of Jesus Christ that are only understood by obeying these new commandments (Mark 12:29-31).

John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

It is absolutely imperative that the light that is within us be that true light of Christ; how can the  teachings of Jesus Christ be understood when  the light we claim to have is actually darkness masquerading as light (Luke 11:35).

John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

The righteousness of Christ was declared without the Old Testament Law; the law and the prophets were a witness of Jesus. They testified of him.

John 15:26-27 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:And ye also shall bear witness,( testify) because ye have been with me from the beginning.

The Teachings of Jesus Christ – Or The Traditions of Men

Within the teachings of Jesus Christ, he warned us that many would come and use His name claiming to be of Him.  These imposters would deceive many (Math 24:5).

You shall know them by their vain or empty words; as they preach a power point sermon about a Christ they do not have a relationship with.

Titus 1:14-16 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

We will be saved by the renewing of the Spirit. The picture here is one of our old nature being made new, by putting on the mind of Christ. Another of the essential Teachings of Jesus Christ is understanding that we are not to conform to the world, but are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, in Christ.

1 Peter 1:8-9 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

The deceptive teaching of Salvation received through self-righteous works, as opposed to having the hope of Salvation when Christ returns with our Salvation, has deadly consequences. Yet this false doctrine is preached to and believed by the majority within the religion of Christianity.

Teachings of Jesus Christ

We can’t stress this point enough. Of all of the essential teachings of Jesus Christ; it must be understood that Salvation is quite impossible to obtain before Christ returns with our Salvation. It is also impossible to be saved without the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Jesus will say to many upon his Second Coming, “depart from me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you”.

The reason for this is that without His Holy Spirit we can not know Him, and he can not know us.

Yes, we can have the Assurance of Salvation, however many who claim a false salvation that is based upon self-righteousness, and the gospel of men, will be damned as a result of not truly living in or for Christ (Jer 17:13; Psalm 101:4; Mathew 7:15-23).

One of the most misunderstood essential Teachings of Jesus Christ is that we are the temple of God; but the Spirit of God will not dwell in a temple that is unfit for his presence (1 Cor 6:19; 1 Cor 3:16; 2 Cor 6:16).

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

When we are truly Born Again and experience the infilling of the holy Spirit, we no longer will walk in darkness but will have the true light of Christ to illuminate our path unto him.

All of The Elect in Christ are Sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise Unto Salvation

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Another of the essential teachings of Jesus Christ, reveals that the Comforter, or Holy Spirit of Promise would teach us all things. This is the promise Christ has given to those who truly love him.

John 14:15-16 If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.

The Elect who truly have a relationship with Jesus, are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise unto Salvation.

We are called the Sons of God; and when Christ returns we shall receive new bodies that are incorruptible and immortal (John 14:26; 1 John 3: 1-2; 1 Cor 15:52-53).

2 Cor 1:21-22 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;  Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

When we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise , we receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; and this is the earnest or down payment unto our Salvation.

Eph 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Through the Holy Spirit of God, we are sealed with the Spirit of promise unto the day of redemption, which is our Salvation.

Deliver us from evil is a prayer we all know very well; and at the end of this age it is fully realized in Christ Jesus. Before Christ we all had a death sentence; but through His shed blood, He has delivered us from that evil (Mat 6:13; Luke 11:4; Eph 4:30 2 Cor 1:9-10)
