It’s a mistaken notion to expect a rational explanation, as there are those who do evil for the sake of evil that drives them, whether those ends make sense not necessarily even relevant, to somebody demonically inflamed. They have the 72 virgins myth, lust thing going on, also, which has always made me wonder what they have, after they’ve gone through their 72 virgins, but that’s beside the point. (At some juncture, wouldn’t said virgin become a ho?)
It’s like some angry animal that pounces, just to try and show it has some power or control in the herd. Evil and its narcissism doesn’t have to make sense, any more than going to hell makes sense. It’s a spiritual force that blindly drives the spiritually blind. It is what it is. As to Muslims, all they will understand is greater force, until there are none left but those who may not want their virgins right away.

I also believe it most important that people understand the fact that there are those who do evil, are motivated by evil, that there are strong forces of evil, and a normal person can’t expect it to make sense. The world at large, in the main, is thoroughly deceived.
A wild animal behaves as a wild animal. If more people realized this, they would be much more careful and discerning of people in their lives, would avoid a lot of evil and know what to expect. This liberal notion everybody is good, if you just cater to them the right way, is as far from reality as can be.
Also importantly is the devil coming as an angel of light, sort of like Ted Bundy, who was a real charmer. Many evil specialize in manipulation, trying to make you see what they want you to see, believe what they want you to believe, and it’s all an act. I believe everybody should study the traits of psychopaths and sociopaths, understand the narcissistic, evil mind, learn to spot its traits.
The Lord has those smiley-faced politicians nailed, who support evil under the table, though: it’s all in the Bible. In scripture are all the whys and wherefores of what is really going on. If somebody is doing evil, they’re evil, no matter appearances. It’s really not even rocket science, the evil ways of evil trees, bearing evil fruit:

This holds true for those who are in a position to do something about evil and do nothing:
