there are dozens of science documentaries on television which declare the moon is a chipped off chunk of planet Earth that has stayed in orbit there for eons. other ancient texts report there used to be no moon here at all. others believe there have been two moons here before at the same time. some believe it came here from elsewhere in the solar system. so it depends which theory you prefer to believe as fact.
