The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus- As it was with the religion of the scribes and Pharisees who were hypocrites, so is it also today

(Before It's News)

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus. From the time of John, Jesus began to preach saying, Repent  for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (Matt 4:17).

Matt 11:12-13 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.  For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus, and the last prophet John the Baptist announced the arrival of the long awaited Messiah.

As it was with the religion of the scribes and Pharisees who were hypocrites, so is it also today. Neither the deceptive teachers, within the religions of men nor their blind followers can enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt 23:13).

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus, who fulfilled all things spoken of Him.

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

The Law and the Prophets were until John the Baptist who announced the arrival of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus Christ who preached the Kingdom of God. All who have eyes to see and ears to hear, press into the Word of God and the new commandments of the lawgiver Christ the King.

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus and His Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven

Luke 8:17-18 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.  Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Sadly, many who base their understanding and faith on the doctrines of men, will have their false sense of security stripped away. Faith and hope that is  based on self righteousness and deceit is a deadly belief system unto damnation.

Matt 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for the Gospel of Christ, for they will inherit the kingdom of heaven (Matt 5:10). This is not a popular verse for those that subscribe to the teaching of the masters of deception regarding the pre tribulation rapture.

Matt 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

As little children we depend on our father. Jesus declared that He and the Father were one. The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus, who is the only way, and is the only truth.

It is only through Christ that we can have eternal life (John 3:15).

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom (through Christ) shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Those that truly hear the voice of Jesus through the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things follow Him, and He knows their names. (John 10:30, John 14:6, John 10:27, John 14:26).

The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus

Mark 4:11-12 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Those who are without the Holy Spirit cannot receive, nor can they understand the Word of God; obviously what Jesus teaches is spiritually discerned (1 Cor 2:14).

1 Cor 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

He that rejects Jesus does not reject a man, but he rejects God, who has given unto us his Holy Spirit (1 Thess 4:8, John 16:7).

OBEDIENCE – what is it? Salvation by works and bondage – OR – is it manifested love because we have been saved and are free from the curse of the Law which is death? ‘The wages of sin is death’ Romans 6:23. Without Torah (law), there would be no sin (lawlessness 1 John 3:4). Romans 4:15. Do you know anyone without sin today? (Romans 3:10; 1 John 1:8) The Torah is like a schoolmaster leading us to freedom in Messiah. Galatians 3:24

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.” Matthew 5:19-20

“And He said to him, ‘Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One – Elohim. But if you wish to enter into life, guard the commands.” Matthew 19:17
“For it is not a worthless Word for you, because it is your life,…” Deuteronomy 32:47
“The circumcision is naught, and the uncircumcision is naught, but the guarding of the commands of Elohim does matter!” 1 Corinthians 7:19

There is no ‘new’ law. Messiah spoke nothing His Father did not speak:
“Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.” John 12:49-50
“Yeshua answered them and said, ‘My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.” John 7:16
“So Yeshua said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Adam, then you shall know that I am He, and that I do none at all of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, these words I speak.” John 8:28

Elohim is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.” John 4:24
“The Torah truly is holy, and the command holy, and righteous and good… For the we know that the Torah is Spiritual…” Romans 7:12,14

We must worship Him in Spirit. The Torah is Spiritual. Obedience is worship. Who you obey is who you serve. “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death or of obedience to righteousness.” Romans 6:16

    What about the Old Testament?
“You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.” Nehemiah 9:20
“Turn at My reproof. See, I pour out My Spirit on you, I make My words known to you.” Proverbs 1:23
    “…and I shall …. put My spirit within you….” Ezekiel 36:27
“And they made their hearts like flint against hearing the Torah, and the words, which Yah of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets…” Zechariah 7:12
“Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.” Psalms 51:11

“But now, having been set free from sin, and having become servants of Elohim (servants obey their Master), you have your fruit (works) resulting in holiness, and the end everlasting life.” (Romans 6:22) Obedience leads to life.

What is sin? We have been set free from sin. “Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” 1 John 3:4
We have been set free from disobedience. ‘Look to obey is better than an offering and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22 “For rebellion (disobedience) is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of YHWH, He also does reject you …” 1 Samuel 15:23

The author of this article stated: ‘Those of the religions of Judaism and Christianity, who claim to be under the Old Testament law do not have a personal relationship with the creator Christ the King.’
Commandments of men Yeshua spoke of in Matthew 15:8-9 “This people draw near to Me with their mouth and respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.” This is true of the Christian today in every denomination as well as the Jew of old and today. We are not to add to or take away from Elohim’s word. (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19)

‘But the commands of Elohim do matter’ 1 Corinthians 7:19.
And yes, ‘This can only be understood by those who are taught of the Holy Spirit, which is given to the faithful who come to Jesus as little children.’
The Holy Spirit gives discernment through the Word. But the Holy Spirit is only given to the obedient (Acts 5:32).
It is the Spirit that writes the Word upon our hearts. “If you stay in My Word, you are truly My taught ones, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32 “Take up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Elohim.” Ephesians 6:17
And yet, our Messiah said in Matthew 7:21-23 that He does not know those who work ‘lawlessness’ (sin), from which He came to save us.
To know us or not to know us is pretty personal. He does not know ‘those who work lawlessness’ – who reject Torah.
The Law or Torah is not kept by our own efforts for our salvation – Salvation is by Grace through faith in the Messiah Yeshua, Son of the Living Elohim. But that does not excuse us to disobedience. Anyone who loves their Elohim, follows and obeys their Elohim – or they do not have a personal relationship with Him – they do not know Him; they do not love Him.

“For not the hearers of the Torah are righteous in the sight of Elohim, but the doers of the Torah shall be declared right.” Romans 2:13
“And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him.” Hebrews 5:9

There has been Grace from the beginning. Salvation has ALWAYS been by Grace (Genesis 15:6). Our Elohim does not change.
“Yeshua Messiah is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of turning.” James 1:17
“For in Messiah Yeshua neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but belief working through love.” Galatians 5:6 But what is love? “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:15
“Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14

“He who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21
“By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard Him commands. For this is the love for Elohim, that we guard Him commands and His commands are not heavy.” 1 John 5:2-3

“And this is love, that we walk according to His commands. This is the commands, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.” 2 John 6
“If you guard My commands, you shall stay in My love even as I have guarded My Father’s commands and stay in His love.” John 15:10

“And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit which He gave us. 1 John 3:24 (but only if we guard His commands)

“The one who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1 John 2:4

“And they were both righteous before Elohim, blamelessly walking in all the commands and righteousnesses of YHWH.” Luke 1:6

“In the sight of Elohim who gives life to all, and of Messiah Yeshua who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge you: that you guard the command spotlessly, blamelessly, until the appearing of our Master Yeshua Messiah.” 1 Timothy 6:13-14

“in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know Elohim, and on those who do not obey the Good News of our Master Yeshua Messiah,…”
    2 Thessalonians 1:8
Personal salvation and obedience are inseparable.

“He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.” John 3:36

“Therefore Yeshua responded and said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do none at all by Himself, but only that which He sees the Father doing, because whatever He does, the Son also likewise does.” John 5:19

“And we are His witnesses to these matters, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom Elohim has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:32
The Holy Spirit, who is our Guide and Teacher will only reside with the obedient.

The Torah is not bondage but freedom.
“But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah.” James 1:25
“So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by a Torah of freedom.” James 2:17

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master’, shall enter into the reign of the heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens.” Matthew 7:21 This is personal relationship.
“And He answering, said to them, ‘My mother and My brothers are those who are hearing the Word of Elohim and doing it.” Luke 8:21

“Why do you call Me ‘Master, Master,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46

“The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.” 1 John 2:6

“And there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
“There is no god besides Me, a righteous El and a Savior, there is none besides Me. Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am El, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:21b-22
    Our Elohim does not change.

If Elohim would do away with His promises to Israel, what makes you think He wouldn’t do away with His promises to you, too, because of all your sin and disobedience? You better hope He didn’t!

“Thus said YHWH, ‘If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the laws of the heavens and earth, then I would also reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I should not take of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I shall turn back their captivity, and have compassion on them.” Jeremiah 33:25-26
Also Psalms 89:20-37 “I shall not profane My covenant, neither would I change what has gone out from My lips. Once I have sworn by My holiness, I do not lie to David; His seed shall be forever;…”

Don’t believe the lie that Elohim’s Word has been done away with.
“Forever, Oh YHWH, Your word stands firm in the heavens” Psalms 119:89
“That I might guard Your Torah continually, forever and ever;” Psalms 119:44
“Let us hear the conclusion of the entire matter: Fear Elohim and guard His commands, for this applies to all mankind!” Ecclesiastes 12:13

Neither is GRACE just a New Testament thing:

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of YHWH.” Genesis 6:8

“And now, please, if I have found grace in Your eyes, please show me Your way, and let me know You, so that I find grace in Your eyes. And consider that this nation is Your people.” Exodus 33:13

“And I shall pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayers. …” Zechariah 12:10

“Thus said YHWH, ‘A people escaped from the sword found grace in the wilderness, Israel, when it went to find rest.” Jeremiah 31:2

Salvation has always been by grace through faith – in His work – not ours (Genesis 15:6) and always will be, however that does not negate obedience.
Obedience is the fruit of our salvation – not the chains.

But the ‘father of lies’ is busy destroying and distorting and dividing. Without the Spirit, given to the obedient, you will be a victim.

Judaism was invented by the Pharisees after 70 CE, after Rome under emperor Titus wiped Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Judea off the face of earth in 70 CE, for rebelling against Roman rule.

So what law and what prophets are you talking about?

  • Pix

“The Law and the Prophets were until Jesus,..”

Is an impossibility. If we are to believe the Christian story, Jesus lived and died before Judaism was invented.

    • So what Oprah fan? There are are no prophets followed in post temple Judaism who were thought to be alive after 300 BC.
And nobody ever followed the law. Your post pharisaic medieval talmudists certainly never did.

You are exposing yourself to be be your little gaytheist colleague Troothytits.
