Christ and the two witnesses, confirm the covenant with many for one week.
This confirmation process began at the beginning of the New Testament age during the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. The conclusion of this confirmation process will be at the end of the Great Tribulation.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
The words “he shall” are incorrectly inserted into the above verse twice. What is being described in this passage is the plan to confirm the covenant with many for one week. The emphasis is on confirming or establishing a covenant and it may be confirmed by multiple sources.
He shall confirm the covenant with many, is in reference to Christ’s covenant, in which we have the hope of our Salvation.
The vast majority teach that this verse refers to the Anti-Christ confirming a covenant with Israel for seven years.
The correct interpretation of the truth hidden in this passage will start the process of unraveling the deception in prophecy teaching. This is only possible if we have the Spirit of Discernment, and can rightly divide the Word of Truth.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
From the command to rebuild Jerusalem until Christ is a period of sixty nine weeks of years; the emphasis in this verse is on Jesus Christ (Dan 9:25).
And after this period of time Messiah shall be cut off; the emphasis in this verse is also on Him (Dan 9:26).
Likewise in Dan 9:27, the emphasis is still on Jesus. The confirmation of the covenant will be given unto many.
The first half of the seventieth week of Daniel was fulfilled in Christ; His ministry was for three and one half years. The promise to confirm the covenant with many for one week is already partially fulfilled in Christ.
This covenant which is Christ’s testimony is the basis for the entire New Testament; those that had faith and hope believed in the testimony of Christ unto life.
The self righteous and deceived believed in their own testimony unto death (Luke 16:15).
John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
Once Jesus made the payment for sin upon the cross, He said it is finished. All that was written in the Law of Moses and the prophets was fulfilled in Christ (Luke 24:44, John 19:30).
Heb 8:6-7 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
The weakness of the first covenant was that the transgressions of the people were only temporarily covered, as the sacrifice for sins was an ongoing process.
Under the second covenant the shed blood of Christ had the power to put away sin, as the Lamb of God was the final sacrifice.
The Messiah came to save His people from their sins (Heb 9:26, 1 John 3:5, Math 1:21).
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ. We can only be justified by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, through faith. (Rom 8:3, 11:27, Heb 9:25, Gal 3:13, 3:24).
The promise to confirm the covenant with many for one week is fully realized upon the completion of the testimony of the two witnesses.
The two Witnesses Confirm the Covenant during the Second Half of the Week (Dan 9:27).
Rev 11:3-7 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
The two witnesses confirm the covenant for a thousand two hundred and sixty days. Their ministry is also for three and one half years. This also represents the duration of time known as the great tribulation period (Dan 12:6-7).
Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
There will be no pre-tribulation rapture, as many Saints will become martyrs for Christ during the reign of the fourth Beast. The end of the testimony of the two witnesses will result in a new beginning, with the return of Jesus Christ, who will reign on earth for a thousand years.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
total and complete nonsense –you are insane
Then you do not believe the Bible, because Paul clearly teaches about pre tribulation caught-up event.
…happening everyday….its called baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks – Christ will make an utter end of the old and the new creation did commence with His resurrection. Our rapture in the near future is the FIRST event on God’s calendar, then Satan and his angels will be thrown on earth. There will be peace, peace and the antichrist will expose all the corrupt politicians – riding on a white horse of peace. Then the only born again believers on earth will be the two witnesses at Jerusalem and many will repent. Soon the grey and the black horse of death will follow as the antichrist real character will surface, and he will even slay the 2 witnesses. From then on it is David (born again believers during the great tribulation) against Goliath. (antichrist at Babylon) http://www.bookoftimes.com
