He as God Sits in the Temple of God – A Second Temple, or the Dwelling Place of the Holy Spirit?
The Temple of God and the Holy Spirit
The Temple of God is where the Holy Spirit dwells. With the advent of Christ, came the indwelling of His Spirit within His elect.
The Elect are the temple of God; Christ abides in us, as we also abide in Him.
1 Cor 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Jesus Christ is the Lord of heaven and earth, and He made the world and all things therein. With the revelation of the new covenant of Christ, the temple of God is no longer a building made with hands (Acts 17:24).
1 Cor 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
When we fail to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, we fulfill the lusts of the flesh which defiles the temple of God (Rom 13:14, Luke 12:22-31).
Acts 7:48-49 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
To live in the Spirit, is to also walk in the Spirit. We allow the temple of God to be occupied by the Spirit of Christ, when we destroy the affections and lusts of the flesh (Gal 5:16, 5:24-25).
The elect in Christ are not to be unequally yoked together with the unbelievers. The righteous can have no true fellowship with the unrighteous, just as the light has no part in the darkness.
When we walk in the light of Christ, we are the temple of God; as He abides in us, we also abide in Him.
Did not God declare, “I will dwell in them and be their God, and they shall be my people” (2 Cor 6:14-18, 1 John 1:7, 1 John 2:27-28).

2 Thess 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as god sits in the temple of god, shewing himself that he is god.
Many, perhaps even the majority of so-called prophecy teachers, fail to correctly interpret this verse regarding the temple of God. The false teachers declare that Satan will occupy a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem.
After God was manifest in the flesh, the temple of God would be a reference to the Holy Spirit dwelling within the true followers of Christ. As well, during the Great Tribulation, the temple of God most definitely is not in Jerusalem (Rev 11:2).
The Saints that come out of the great tribulation, will have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. As a result of this purification, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple. Therefore the temple of God can never be referred to as a man made structure, without the physical and or Spiritual presence of Christ (Rev 7:14-16).
Satan’s palace will be established in the glorious holy mountain; this however represents a building or dwelling place and is not the temple of God (Dan 11:45, Math 24:15).
Until the time of reformation, as a result of the sacrificial Lamb, the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest. But after Christ we can have the confidence to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus (Heb 9:8-10, 10:19).
The phrase, he as god sits (or dwells) in the temple of god, is in reference to Satan dwelling where he ought not to.
The fulfillment of this then is when Satan occupies the place that should be reserved for the Holy Spirit.
2 Thess 2:9-12 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Understanding the Temple of god by the Spirit of God
1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
When we put on the mind of Christ and are taught by His Holy spirit, we will see clearly through the deceptive doctrines of man (1 Cor 2:16, John 14:26).
Satan, who is the great deceiver, tries to impersonate God. By dwelling in the place of God, he shows himself that he is a god (1 Cor 3:16, 6:19, 2 Cor 6:16, Acts 7:48, 17:24, Rev 11:19).
Lest we forget, Satan is the god of this world (2 Cor 4:4).
The temple of God is not a re-established sanctuary for the jewish people. (Zech 6:12, Rev 11:2).
There will never be another reinstated sacrificial system for the jewish people. Christ caused the sacrifice and the oblations to cease, as He was the final sacrifice. After The shed blood of Jesus, never again would animal sacrifices be acceptable (Heb 7:27, 10:8-20).
Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
The word sacrifice in the verse above is added inappropriately. To take away the continual, is the appropriate or intended meaning.
The antichrist does not make a covenant with any; however Christ will confirm the covenant with many. Refer to the article; confirm the covenant with many for one week, for the true revelation of Daniel 9:27.
Satan’s palace will be established in Jerusalem. This city is referred to spiritually as Sodom and Egypt, during the time of the Great Tribulation. At the true second gathering of Israel, all of the the righteous in Christ will reign in a gloriously restored Jerusalem. No longer will Jerusalem be spiritually referred to as Sodom and Egypt, as it is during the Great Tribulation (Rev 11:8).
He as God sits in the Temple of God represents the greatest accomplishment of the Devil. His spiritual control over mankind is unto eternal destruction (Math 10:28).
With all the gay pride marches there it has already become physically Sodom!

there will be a physical temple in Jerusalem.
Some commenters like to spiritualize the prophecies about the end times temple to make it a spiritual place like the church or something. They use the same arguments used before 1948 that commenters used to say that a literal Israel in the promised land will never happen. They taught that all the predictions about Israel applied to spiritual israel, the church.
