Many misguided people who do not have the Assurance of Salvation, ask the question,” Can I lose my Salvation”? If you have ever wondered if you could lose your Salvation, you can rest assured that the answer is without any doubt, absolutely not!
But through the Holy Spirit you can have full Assurance of Salvation. Every time that salvation, redemption or resurrection of the believer is mentioned in salvation scripture it is always referred to in the future tense. The reason is that only upon Christ’s return to earth can this redemptive process take place.
One of the problems with Christianity today is that most have no hope. In fact few even understand the meaning of the word. How can you hope for something you claim to already possess?
1 Pet 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
You can not discuss the hope that you do not have, because of the assurance of Salvation that you claim to already possess, as opposed to the knowledge of one day receiving it. Many deceived souls accept the false teaching of having the assurance of Salvation by works, when they claim to be saved now by the words they speak. They do not have the hope of the rewards promised to be given at the end of this age, and therefore they miss out on an incredible journey. This is one of the greatest lies ever taught to the masses; it also parallels a similar condition that Jesus encountered with the false teachers of that time. Basing the assurance of salvation on works, whether it be through words or deeds, is self-righteousness, and it is a deadly and empty false doctrine.
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
According to salvation scriptures, we gain access to His Grace and Mercy by Faith through His Spirit, with a blessed Assurance of Salvation. Our redemption from the sinful flesh and our gathering together unto Him, at the last day both occur at the same time. This is what motivates us, gives us a sure hope and allows us to produce works that are approved and acceptable through the Holy Spirit.
Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
We joyfully wait with great anticipation, for the second coming of our Redeemer. Our reward is with and through Him, and Christ is the treasure we cling to. For the spirit filled Christian Assurance of Salvation is the realization we will inherit incorruption and immortality, if we faithfully run the race set before us.
Lam 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
The Lamb of God is also the King of Kings, and He alone provides our Assurance of Salvation. This gift is given to all who are worthy of it, that worship Christ in Spirit and in Truth.
Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
The cross upon which Christ died, for the remission or covering of our sins, is the reason we can know of and obtain the Assurance of Salvation He brings.
Luke 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
The explanation of this beautiful act of redemptive power and glory is given through His Love letter to us. This is our prized possession, it is the Living Word of God.
Acts 13:26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
Following the new commandments that are written in our hearts and minds enable us to be referred to as His children. We can with Christ’s Love, understand and direct others towards the path of the blessed Assurance of Salvation. When one experiences real joy, sharing this joy with others naturally occurs.
Acts 16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
The gospel message and salvation scriptures of Christ to those that believe with all of their heart mind and spirit is the power of god unto the Assurance of Salvation. The word unto is an important one that distinguishes the timing. John uses the same word when he said that he baptizes with water unto repentance.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
We are to put off the works of darkness and the many false teachings that have lulled so many to sleep. Christ our Salvation draws nearer, as this present evil world is about to expire.
Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we (first) believed.
That which is born of the flesh is of the flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is of the spirit.
Unless you are Born again you can not have a true knowledge of the Kingdom of God, or the true Assurance of Salvation.
Being born again and receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit are one in the same. Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter into the Kingdom of God (John 3:3-8).
The greatest tragedy is believing you are Born again without ever experiencing the true indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This lie is an empty promise that leads to death and destruction, as the ability to truly understand Christ and His life changing testimony is impossible without His Spirit (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13; Eph 1:13).
All false teachers and the congregations that they preside over, that do not truly have the Holy Spirit have a form of godliness. But they deny the power thereof, as it is quite impossible to truly know Jesus, apart from having His Spirit that abides in the temple of the true believer. The first chapter of Ephesians is very powerful, and gives us a vivid description of the Assurance of Salvation that we can possess.
The believer that has been sealed is Born Again. This life changing event is also known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Without this infilling, we can not understand and walk in the Word, and therefore the Assurance of Salvation is impossible.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise
Christ purchased us through His shed blood and gives us the Holy Spirit as a down payment. We are sealed or set apart from the world at this point, and the fulfillment of this contract which is our inheritance, occurs upon our redemption at His second coming.
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Christ spoke plainly when He said that unless you believe and are baptized you shall not be saved. He did not say you are saved, but you shall be saved.
John the Baptist proclaimed that are two Baptisms; one is unto repentance, and the other is unto the Assurance of Salvation through the Holy Spirit.
All in Christ can have the Assurance of Salvation , but it does require the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit it is impossible to even understand the Word of God. This is why there is so much division in the so-called Christian church today. It has been hijacked by power hungry liars and thieves.
Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
John also tells us in salvation scriptures that we will be baptized with fire. This will be a process in which the impurities and useless pursuits of our lives will be burned up. What is left behind will be the determination of what type of rewards are due.
1 Cor 3:13-14 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
the letter to the hebrews was written as the storm clouds of the first waves of imperial persecution loomed after 65 a.d. Many jewish converts found it convenient to go back to the synogogue, since the romans left the jews for the most part alone. That is why the strongest words against apostasy are in hebrews.
heb 6:4-8
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
Heb 10:26-31
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
there are other scriptures that teach that Christians can lose their salvation. The typical reform answer at this point is, “well, those people weren’t really saved in the first place.” Nope, that falls short of the scripture here…
sorry folks, but some people just aren’t going to make it. Christians can lose their salvation, but they can also be restored.
It is written that we are elect, chosen, predestinated, foreordained, known from the womb, and our names were written in the Book of Life, since before the foundations of the Earth.
Conversely, in John 3:18, some are condemned, already.
So, some are incorruptible, and others are irredeemable — according to the will of God. It is an accusation, made by the demons, in exorcisms. They don’t believe that such absolutism is fair.
