Let the redeemed of the Lord say so

The redeemed of the Lord Jesus Christ, will Inherit Zion. This is a future event, and part of the promise to the faithful followers of the Lamb of God.

Isaiah 35:9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there

The daughter of Zion is a reference to Jerusalem, and the redeemed of the Lord will occupy this city, that will be cleansed and restored  (Isa 1:1;1:8).

Isaiah 62:11-12 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

The redeemed of the Lord will Inherit Zion

The redeemed of the Lord, describes a purchased possession. Within the Old Testament prophecies concerning Christ’s millennium reign on earth, it also represents a fulfillment of the redemptive process unto Salvation.

Isaiah 35:10  And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Ransom is a descriptive word of the purchase that Christ made on the cross to wash us from our sins. Christ offered up His life as a ransom for many (Math 20:28).

Isaiah 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

The redeemed of the Lord that will Inherit Zion, are those that Christ gathers at His Second Coming. These have the Law of Christ in their hearts, and this is the second gathering of Israel (Isa 51:7; Heb 10:16).

Romans 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

It is only through the redemptive power of the Blood of Christ that we can have a hope of salvation. No man is justified by the works of the old law. After Christ’s first advent, the redeemed of the lord became dead to the law of sin and death through Him (Rom 7:4; 8:1-6; Gal 2:16-21). As well all who are transformed by the renewing of their minds in Christ, are a new creation and are the true Israel of God (Gal 6:15-16; Rom 12:2; 2 Cor 5:17).

Luke 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed (or ransomed) his people,

A ransom is a payment demanded or paid for the release of a prisoner. Jesus who is the Lord God of Israel, was manifest or revealed in the flesh. He laid down His life to call the redeemed of the Lord that He had chosen unto Himself (See also Isa 35:10).

The word redeemed here is used in reference to Christ’s conquering of sin and death. Redemption on the other hand refers to a time of transformation wherein the redeemed of the Lord will put on immortality and incorruption. This transformation process occurs at Christ’s Second Coming. All who are cleansed in His redeeming work on the cross wait for the redemption of the mortal body.

The redeemed of the Lord that will Inherit Zion, are the Elect and inherit the right to be called the Sons of God (Luke 21:28; Rom 8:23; Eph 1:10-14; 2 Tim 1:10; 1 Cor 15:53).

Luke 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

In the Old Testament very often where the words his people are used, the translation is incorrect.  However in the New Testament, my people, is always used in reference to the redeemed of the Lord. Those who walk with god, and truly know him, are His people.

Romans 4:13-14 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.  For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

The redeemed of the Lord are also the true Israel Of God

Isaiah 63:3 (I will) trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

The words, “I have trodden the winepress” in the verse above should actually read, “I will tread down”, as this is a future occurrence (Rev 14:20, 19:15).

The day of vengeance from the Lord, is also when the redeemed of the Lord are gathered together (Isaiah 63:4, Isa 34:2).

Isaiah 34:2 For the indignation of the LORD is upon (this) nation, and his fury upon all their armies: he (will) utterly destroy them, he (will) deliver them to the slaughter. (Emphasis added)

Again the prophecy in the verse above, is yet another future occurrence. All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll (Isaiah 34:4, Rev 6:14).

Isaiah 65:1-2 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

Israel that did not obtain the law of righteousness failed as a result of unfaithfulness. Through the Spirit of Christ, the redeemed of the Lord not only know of Him, but He dwells within them. These are the Israel of God (Gal 6:15-16).

Romans 10:20-21 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.  But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Through Christ all are joined into the commonwealth of Israel. All of the redeemed of the Lord Jesus Christ, are of one body, and heirs according to the promise (Eph 2:12, 3:28-29).

Romans 9:6-7 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children

Israel after the flesh, because of the hardness of their hearts and false pride, did not obtain a part in the election. They rejected the Savior of the world that the Law and Prophets spoke of.

Romans 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded  

The title of Israel carries with it the meaning of God prevailing. The redeemed of the Lord that will Inherit Zion, is representative of all who are called, and obey in faith through Christ’s Spirit.   The redeemed of the Lord are also the Sons of God (1 John 3:1; John 1:10-14).

Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

All of the redeemed of the Lord will be saved at the last trump (1 Cor 15:52). The all refers to all of a type, namely the faithful and obedient that walk with Christ.

Jesus is the only way, the absolute truth, and by him we can have eternal life if we faithfully endure (Math 10:22, John 3:15; 1 John 2:22-29).

1 Peter 2:9-10 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy
