Squad car destroyed as protesters turn violent on Pratt St in downtown Baltimore near Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
It’s been heating up all week in Baltimore, the anger appears to be reaching a boiling point. It’s still early, 7 pm, and the violence is just beginning over Freddie gray death.
The police just gave the order to gas the crowd if they get any closer to the barricades. Going to be a interesting weekend.
I am including some history of riots in Baltimore below, “History Reats”
The Baltimore area found itself on the front lines of the Civil War almost immediately after the first shots were fired at Fort Sumter.
Union troops rushing to the defense of Washington, DC just days after Summer had to pass through the area where loyalties were, at best, questionable.
The tension erupted April 19, 1861, in Baltimore as Southern sympathizers attacked Federal troops. Union authorities moved quickly and decisively to secure the area, but the situation remained uneasy throughout the war.
This Civil War Trails tour covers the Baltimore city story as well as area themes involving African Americans, the all-important railroads and a variety of activity on the northern shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
Baltimore was a growing, thriving city served by a navigable harbor and four railroads on the eve of the Civil War. It was also a city divided. Confederate sentiment was strong here. Abraham Lincoln received only 1,100 of more than 30,000 votes cast for president in 1860.
Fearing a plot against his life, advisers convinced Lincoln to travel in secret through Baltimore on his way to Washington. The ploy was seen by some as cowardly.
As war clouds gathered, troops from the north headed south to Washington. The first of those soldiers, from Massachusets and Pennsylvania, arrived in Baltimore April 19, 1861. Fighting broke out as the Union soldiers marched between Camden and President Street railroad stations. Accounts differ, but at least 10 soldiers and as many civilians were killed in the “battle” that some called “The Lexington of 1861″ or the “Massacre at Baltimore.”
Order was restored, some Baltimore civic leaders were imprisoned, and Federal leaders imposed martial law on the city. But loyalties were never certain, and Baltimore spent an uneasy war.
For more on the city’s Civil War history, a good reference is Baltimore During the Civil War by Scott Sumpter Sheeds and Daniel Carroll Toomey.
History repeats and baltimore has a vast history of political rebellion. Could this be the beginning of the long awaited police state? Stay tune, it’s going to be a interesting evening in Baltimore.
PROTESTERS! Whenever you encounter a Wall of Police officers, 1/2 of you branch off and walk around the block(s) to their sides until you can get to a open street and go around that block until you get to see their backs or sides. This way your crowd can surround THEM, NOT THEM SURROUND YOU! That is the very tactic that all police use, so use it back against them! Make them feel like a cornered RAT, like they are!
Stretch their personnel resources for blocks and blocks until the masses encircle them. This way, We The People in the Protest has control over them! Think! This will wake them up to let them know you know what the heck your doing! So whenever you see 2 deep, that means they left their backs and sides open to protesters, so that is their weakest point to focus on. Then they’ll have to re-think/re-position their troops. Keep doing it and sooner or later they will know you know how to contain them.
REMEMBER, THE PROTESTERS HAVE TO GAIN THE UPPER HAND OVER AND AROUND THEM! Keep Spreading out… Standing in from of them is ok, but its best to split up the masses and encirlce around their sides and backs to enclose them, so you see the “defined” area they are protecting!
Start to think smarter and don’t just stop because that is what they want…
Also, when your on the loudspeaker, tell the cops over and over that you are protecting their very own childrens freedom because other cops will be coming after them while they are protecting the system where you are. Tell them too that while they are out protecting, that THEIR FAMILIES ARE AT RISK AND LEFT OPEN TO HARM, and ask them if they are willing to give up their wives and chlidrens lives for protecting the criminal system… Get inside their heads and make them think they need to stay home and protect their families, wives and children before they leave… Maybe this will make them start to think twice…
Great job but please pass this on to the protesters there.
Does battery acid and nitric acid harm cops as much as a bullet.?
I wonder if it will be escalated to Chem war fare people with acid and cops with nerve gas
I guess the people would beat them at that game
You reap what you sew.
