In a gross mischaracterization of the blacklivesmatter movement, for some people, it’s all abouit cops. Apparently some folks think if blacklives matter, then copslives don’t. If we are to live in a civil society, then cop lives and black lives must matter. That is unless we set up police forces as a military occupation force, where the only lives that matter are those of the occupiers–the Israeli model in Gaza. That is a model that is inconsistent with our democracy.
In the Gaza occupation model, occupying soldiers are objects ofhatred–rock throwing kids get killed, hoiuses get bulldozed, all because of the occupying forces have the power to occupy, control and kill. We don’t need occuupiers in the US. But cops are human beings and yes, their lives DO matter muckracker
