Rapper DMX seemed shocked after his thirteen-year-relationship with wife Tashera is finally coming to an end. Tashera has asked for a divorce during the finale of the reality TV show, Couple's Therapy. The pair was on the show to work on their estranged relationship.
DMX, real name, Earl Simmons, had taken Tahera as his legally wedded wife in the year 1999. The relationship has seen various ups and downs owing to the rappers disproportionate lifestyle. He has fathered six children out of wedlock with different women. The couple had been separated since 2010 on the grounds of infidelity on the hip-hop star's part.
It looked like the pair were to reunite and make their relationship work when they decided to be on board on the reality TV show, Couple's Therapy. However, things do not seem to fall in place after Tashera's announcement coming on the finale of the show to go off the relationship.
The rapper's wife clarifies that the divorce claim she made on television was not just a thread to lure the audience. She also maintained that she fails to understand why her husband looked shocked after the announcement. She told Essence, "He couldn't believe it. I don't know why. After going through all the stuff we did – after he did all the things he has done and after us going through therapy – I was just like, I couldn't leave (the show) without asking for a divorce."
With his numerous criminal records and turbulent lifestyle, it looks like there won't be much trouble to grant a divorce for the state. Many states easily grant a divorce to spouses whose partners have been sentenced to imprisonment in the past.
Tashera is positive to end the relationship as she claims, "I felt like it was time. I'm (about) self-empowerment now, and I was so totally over the situation. I want to help other women, so I knew I needed to put my relationship on Front Street (on display) so they could see what I was dealing with, and what I chose to do."
The pair has four children from the marriage. For more information about divorce and child support group kindly visit this page.
