The heat is rising and chasing the back of your heels. You gasp for air, desperately trying to breathe through the thick black smoke. Your chest is pounding and you see the inevitable coming. You lose your footing and suddenly feel your equilibrium being challenged. It’s here….you’re free falling now into the abyss…. But, exactly where are you going?
Burning bridges. At some point or another, we’ve all been there before. Or maybe you haven’t….hopefully by learning from the mistakes of others. It’s the simple golden rule that we always seem to miss. Why do we sometimes have a difficult time treating people the way we feel we should be treated? Is it because deep down we really don’t feel that great about ourselves, let alone someone else. Maybe so….Think about the person who disrespects the janitor at a McDonald’s and scoots them out of the way so that they can rush to the register and order some food they don’t need anyway. On their way out, the person is tapped on the shoulder by the janitor.
