~~When is the last time that you’ve heard a sermon preached about hell? I remember growing up, hearing sermons on a regular basis about this very subject. Somewhere along the way, many pulpits have brushed this aside in favor of sermons about prosperity, blessings, grace, and tolerance. After all, they don’t want to offend anyone. As the church has moved to a seeker friendly format, today’s messages have to be pleasing to the appetites and palates of the parishioners. Imagine what would happen if Joel Osteen started preaching about hell. There would be a mass exodus from his church and the deep pockets would quickly dry up. It’s so unfortunate that many of today’s preachers value popularity and big offerings over truth. Continue reading at:
