WorldNet Daily editor Joseph Farah reminded the public recently that “October 23 is the day that 17th-century scholar James Ussher deduced was the day on which God created the Earth in the year 4004 BC and that 2015 will mark the Earth’s 6,029th birthday. Farah stated he plans to mark the occasion by taking on some of the scientific quibbles with Young Earth Creationism, including the science showing that the earth is billions of years old and that dinosaurs roamed the earth millions of years ago.

“While science “can never prove the age of the Earth,” Farah argued, “God can, however, prove the age of the Earth because He was there. And someday, when He returns to judge His creation, He might just do that.” He then argued that ancient depictions of mythical beasts are proof that humans coexisted with dinosaurs. “Is it crazier for me to believe the world is around 6,000 years old than it is to accept as scientific fact that it is actually millions or billions of years old?” he asked.

“That’s why science and religion will never be reconciled, there will always be a rift among the two,” he added. “What’s more, science has constantly tried to explain and quantify religious notions and in doing so, has managed to turn away millions of people from their faith. At the end of the day, science is great in many things, except when it comes to religion.”

Farah also stated: “What worries me most is the effect it has on all our children who have yet to decide for themselves where and how to find God. The latest example of how science twists the word of the Lord is the movie ‘Jurassic World.’ That’s why I think it’s a good idea to forbid kids in America to watch movies that feature dinosaurs at least until they’re 18. In fact, I urge parents to do so. The future of our great nation is at risk”
