Private wells in California farm area show high uranium. One in four household water wells in parts of California’s Central Valley contains potentially harmful levels of uranium, a U.S. Geological Survey study said.

 

Cleaning up water by running it through dirt. Storm runoff can be toxic to aquatic life, but a new study suggests a simple and relatively inexpensive solution: Filter the water through dirt before it enters streams, rivers or the ocean. [Note: not a long term solution, the dirt becomes contaminated]
