Federal report tallies toll on Bay of Shore farmers overuse of chicken manure to fertilize crops. Eastern Shore rivers and the Chesapeake Bay are being degraded by spreading too much fertilizer and manure on the Delmarva Peninsula’s farm fields, a new federal report concludes.
