Collapse of the World’s Largest Herbivores. Sixty percent of large wild herbivores (body mass ≥100 kg) are threatened with extinction. Nearly all threatened species are in developing countries, where major threats include hunting, land-use change, and resource depression by livestock.

 

Al Gore inspires ‘CO2,’ an opera; a physicist lectures on climate change with a string quartet. ‘CO2′ features, for perhaps the first time in the history of opera, a climate scientist as its main character.
