(Before It's News)

The technological world has been moving forward at an incredibly fast pace lately. The emergence of a variety of cloud platforms has made the world a much more connected place. One concept that has only recently emerged is the Internet of Things: the utilization of various tiny computers, called microcontrollers, in combination with cloud systems that enable people to use things around them wirelessly, no matter where they are.

One thing is certain, the technology will certainly move forward as more companies invest their time and research in these types of gadgets. We can see an increase in devices aimed at making people closer to this type of technology, such as Curiosity Development Boards, created by Microchip.

As more people work with this technology, we will see great advancements with devices in our homes. Let’s take a brief look at what systems will dominate the home market in the future, turning every home in a technological haven.

Distantly Controlled Security Systems With Live Feed

Some IoT cloud solutions are not completely safe at the moment, so we can expect the development of remotely controlled locks to be delayed, but it certainly will become possible in the future. Nowadays, losing a key can cause a series of problems, making it necessary to change the door locks.

However, with wireless connectivity, facing this kind of problem is practically impossible. In cases when there are internet problems, there are always other ways of establishing a wireless connection via direct Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It probably will be possible to add your own fingerprint sensor on the doors, further increasing the lock system of your home.

What is more important is the live notification system that will always monitor if someone is trying to enter your home. Additionally, the complete system can be connected to the police department, and when anyone tries to break into your home, the police will be immediately notified. This is one of the IoT applications that will certainly expand over the globe, as it is very practical.

Remotely Controllable Home Appliances

Imagine a hot day at work. You are aware that the temperature in your home is probably high, but all that you can do is wait to arrive to turn on your A/C. Well, in the future, this scenario will be much different. You can simply turn on the A/C using your smartphone and once you arrive home, you can enjoy the fresh air and temperature of your home.

On the other hand, you will also be able to control the temperature of your oven wirelessly, so that it is always ready when you want to make your dinner. Temperature control in your home will become completely automated with the involvement of a variety of sensors that make the heating/cooling system much more efficient and budget-friendly. The same goes for a variety of other home appliances that will become more wirelessly controlled and automated.

Increased Presence of Voice Control

Companies constantly invest in voice recognition, which has significantly progressed, as we can see with Siri or Google Now range of voice commands. We can already see an abundance of online videos that shows that this is completely possible. This technology will significantly change the way we use the devices around us. It will make our lives both simpler and easier.

It is fun to see the direction in which technology is currently moving. The Internet of Things is a very powerful idea that will completely change the world, similarly to the way smartphones have. It is important to mention that there are many other applications of this technology, but some serious changes on the world market will occur only years from now. The world will completely change as this technology becomes mainstream, and we can only sit back and enjoy the experience.
