Why Isn’t America “As Mad As Hell” and Unwilling to “Take It Anymore”?
Howard Bloom, Yale literature professor and cultural critic, recently stated “I am 79 years old and I have never seen this country in such a bad state. It is madness. What we are seeing is the fall of the Roman Empire, only now it is the fall of America, the glory of our Empire.”
Ebola threatens to sweep across America. The United States sits on the brink of World War III. The economy is teetering on collapse. The Chinese are on the verge of owning your possessions and you and this arrangement was agreed to by people who were elected to “protect and defend the Constitution”. The UN is poised to be in charge of the demise of this country when martial law is declared. The eternal “bail outs” have robbed this generation and future generations of any chance at financial solvency. America has more people on welfare than are working full time. Election fraud is rampant. American students continue to fall further behind our international cohorts. The average person cannot even name one thing that the Obama administration has done to improve the condition of the middle class, yet, he got re-elected. One visit, for one day to Steve Quayle’s website and one radio broadcast from Doug and Joe Hagmann, or from Sheila Zilinski should be enough to summon the spirits of Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine and we should be witnessing the creation of a new Declaration of Independence and a re-creation of the pamphlet entitled Common Sense, for which my radio show and website are named.
Is There Any Life On This Planet?
As I look at America’s daunting and mounting dilemmas, I cannot help wondering, “Isn’t it time to get mad, mad as hell”? In response to my multi-part series on the unaddressed dangers posed by Ebola, many of you have written to me and expressed some very heartfelt consternation of the present set of affairs. Yet, nobody does anything!
There can be little doubt that America needs a rallying call to action if we are to reverse the destructive path we have embarked upon. The middle class is in desperate need of a spokesperson, somebody who could awaken the masses and spur an apathetic America to action. Who could provide this much needed clarion call? Will it be Glenn Beck? Or, maybe, Rush Limbaugh will heed the call and step forward. NOT LIKELY! Perhaps it will be Hannity. No way! Every one of these media figures are too mainstream and too entrenched in the existing system to effectively take the torch and lead America out of the abyss that it finds itself in. What if America did find its spokesperson? What would it sound like? What form would it take? Right now, the best America can do comes from a movie character and this character was introduced to movie goers over 35 years ago. I am speaking about Howard Beale.
Who could ever forget the classic move Network and the mythical broadcaster, Howard Beale, and his impassioned attempt to get America “as mad as hell” and not “to take it anymore!”
What if Howard Beale were to attempt to call America to action today? What would it sound like? It might go something like the following:
“I don’t have to tell you that things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. We are in the greatest depression of all time. Several hundred thousand Americans lost their jobs last month and several million more afraid of losing their jobs. Thanks to the FED, the dollar buys a penny’s worth; your local bank is only still open through the forced “generosity” of your hard-earned tax dollars in the form of bailouts in the biggest wealth distribution plan in all of recorded history”.
A modern day Beale would go on to say “
We know the air is unfit to breathe, we are being sprayed by Chemtrails and our genetically modified food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TV’s as some local newscaster tells us that the Dow is approaching 6,000, the FDIC and Social Security are near insolvency. Because of the NDAA, the government can secretly snatch you off the street and nobody knows what to do about it. We know things are bad—worse than bad—they’re crazy! It’s like everything, everywhere is going crazy. So, we don’t go out anymore because we cannot afford the photo radar tickets and the toll road fees. We sit in our soon-to-be foreclosed homes and slowly the world we’re living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, “Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my satellite TV and my MP3 players as well as my smartphone, and I won’t say anything. Well, I’m not going to leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest, the new DARPA weapons of citizen subjugation that would render protest effort to be futile. I don’t want you to riot, NORTHCOM and DHS lie in wait. I don’t want you to write to your Congressman, because they are already bought and paid for by the forces that are already at work trying to enslave you. I don’t know what to do about the depression, the Russians and the Chinese and neither does Obama. I also don’t know what to do about inflation, your lost pension and the crime in the streets.” All I know is that first, you’ve got to get mad. You’ve gotta say, “I’m a human being, (bleep)! My life has value!”
“So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!“
Fortunately, most Americans are angry, terribly angry as evidenced by Congress’ 7% approval rating. Unfortunately, most of America does not know where to direct their anger or who is responsible for our declining fortunes and we are quickly running out of time.
To the sheep of America, there is nothing more that anyone can tell you. My media colleagues have identified the great usurpers of the Constitution. Thanks to many in the media, the names of the robber barons are on display for all to see as well as their crimes against humanity. There is nothing more that I can write or that Doug and Joe Hagmann can broadcast. We, in the media have made the information known to anyone who takes the time to look. If you do not get it by now, it is not likely that you ever will as you have likely accepted your enslavement with a smile.
Where is Howard Beale when we need him the most? Look in the mirror, America, YOU are Howard Beale and it is time to get as mad as hell!

Americans are still way too rich and have way too much to lose yet. You know things are bad when you lose everything and the government cheques have stopped, then something may happen.

I am 78 and also mad as hell. What is wrong with our young folks. Don’t they care. They will when we are attacked and want protection.,
1) There are no leaders in this nation. The only people who push are those who are trying to sell something, and nothing offered is of tangible value. We have no philosophers, we have no logicians. What we do have is an abundance of whining, complaining and ignorance.
2) fewer than 1/3 of the people infesting this nation know anything about its founding, its infrastructure, or how it is supposed to work versus how it really works. What is worse is that the information is as available to the individual as a tv guide. Yet very few people care.
3) Any revolution brought about will be done by those who are begging for the police state.
4) The American Revolution was a unique occurrence in the recorded history of the world. It was inspired through philosophy and coupled with pragmatism. There are no Jeffersons, Hamiltons, Franklins anymore to take ideas from individuals like Thomas Paine and couple them with the fire of someone like a Patrick Henry.
5) America has been under assault since the very early days of the revolution. Fewer than 28% of the colonial population wanted to break from England, the numbers supporting secession today are even lower than in the 18th century.
6) The American System is still the best of all available options. Rather than revolution why don’t we push for actual representation. There has been no reapportionment undertaken by the USA since 1913, over 100 years and 220 million people ago. In 1914 they had it set up so there were no more than 250,000 people to each representative. Today it is over 900k per representative. If you want a government beholden of the people than go down to your secretary of state’s office, get the forms and petitions needed. And get it on the ballot. The ONLY people fighting you will be the government. Push for representation of 250k per rep. Push for an increase to the house of representatives this will end gerrymandering. Of course every lawmaker will have to take a huge pay cut because in order to make it work you would need to keep the bucket from which Congress is paid at the current cap somewhere in the range of $100mln
all the misery that has been handed to us, and what is waiting our future generations is all do to the criminals in Washington DC.
SO WHAT DO WE AMERICANS NEED TO DO?
WE ALL KNOW THE ANSWER, PLACE ALL OF THEM IN JAIL THEN FIGURE OUT WHO SHOULD BE LET OUT.

I understand that fear mongering is 90% of this site, but articles like this are so silly. Chemtrails? Really? It’s 2014 no one believes in Chemtrails any more. The reason being that at least 20 times they’ve been proven beyond any shadow of a doubt to be completely fake.
As for everything else. The whole world is pretty crazy right now, not just America. The fact that the whole world is pretty crazy right now is also not America’s fault, regardless of how bad you want to make it out to be that way. The world is changing and as such some things get better and some worse. We rally for the good and protest the bad just as we’ve always done and continue to effect change.
The majority of the people who frequent this site need to read and check out the real world sometime instead of the craziness posted on BiN and InfoWars and their ilk. If all you read is the insanity posted on these sites it’s easy to get brainwashed, take a breath of fresh air sometime and realize that everything will be alright.

Bloom is so full of it. He claims, for example, that more Americans are “on welfare” than working.
According to the BLS (as reported by Forbes), there are 144 million Americans working.
The number on Medicaid, the largest welfare program, is 72 million, and there are 23 million on TANF, SSI, and foodstamps. Of those on Medicaid, almost all qualify for at least one of the other programs, so that means therre are a total of perhaps 75 million total on welfare, and tens of millions of these are also working in low-paying jobs, shchas
Walmarts and McDonalds, where millions working full time qualify for welfare.
There are more than twice as many Americans working as are on welfare programs, and so Bloom’s grasp of data is sadly biased in favor of his right wing political views.
“In 2011 roughly 86% of children receiving Medicaid came from working families, according to the Centre on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP),…….Most able-bodied adults in households with children that receive food stamps work.”
So not only do twice as many Americans work as receive welfare, but most of those receiving welfare also work!

TANF, which replaced AFDC, in the 90;s has now about 4 million recipients, mostly children, poor disabled and seniors, and poor working others. The total cost of “family assistace” is 20 billion, or less than 10% of the amount of subsidies handed out to wealthy corporations like banks, energy, telecomm, big pharma, big ag, and the MIC.
Kaiser Health News reported that 65% of people on Medicaid (largely children) come from working famillies.
So not only do working Americans far outnumber those receiving welfare, but most receiving welfare are from working families.

Bloom is absolutely correct….we are watching the downfall of America. People OPEN your eyes. The future will be of riots, racial wars, Muslim attacks, more unemployed, more rules against man, water restriction, energy restriction, more taxes, more poverty, just as government has planned.
When you read stats …if governments…they are often manipulated. Chem trails are as real as I am typing this comment. When ground is researched to find poison in the soil ….something is wrong. What about radiation from Fukishima….where as horse skin is falling off and much more. The comments on this site are very troublesome. Oil spills and radiation has ruined our oceans. The greedy government conglomerates are destroying this planet.
