One of the Navy’s biggest corruption scandals in years deepened further Thursday when federal prosecutors secured a guilty plea from another officer who admitted to disclosing military secrets in exchange for prostitutes and other bribes, court records show.
Capt. Daniel Dusek, a former commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard and a senior officer in the Navy’s 7th Fleet, entered the guilty plea in federal court in San Diego and was released on $200,000 bond until his sentencing. He could receive up to five years in prison.
Five other people have pleaded guilty in the case, including another Navy captain, a retired lieutenant commander, a petty officer and a senior agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. morehere
