The ThinkPad from Lenovo has been a steady machine on the market for a long time, traditionally these were associated with business users, but more recently, the design and styling have been directed to a wider market, the new X230 laptop is not exception to that trend.

When we look at a new laptop, there are probably a few key features that are common across the entire marketplace such as processor and graphics. However, one thing that is essential to a user and is often overlooked by the consumer is battery life! Lenovo appear to have taken this on board and as such can offer the user up twenty four hours battery life with its ThinkPad 19+ slice battery feature.

Unfortunately, at the moment Lenovo have only released a few specs and features for the X230 ahead of the full launch next month. So, this is what we know about the new ThinkPad so far, it will have a decent sized 12.5 inch wide view IPS display and it comes with a built in 720p HD web camera.

It will be powered by an up to a yet to be announced 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor, with up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM memory and an up to 500 GB hard disk drive (HDD) with the Lenovo Active Protection System for hard drives installed and there is a 256 GB solid state drive (SSD) available too.

Other features include the HDMI out and two fast connecting USB 3.0 ports. While the audio is provided by the Dolby speaker system with Advanced Audio v2 for a complete surround sound effect. The laptop is estimated to weigh in at around three pounds with the battery in place that offers up to eight hours of power. However, with the ThinkPad 19+ slice battery choice, the battery can be up to twenty four hours!

When the new Lenovo hits the stores it will have a starting price of around $1,180, while the convertible tablet version will be costing around $300 more.
