The well established Texas based computer designer, manufacturer and retailer Dell, is one of those firms that you either love or hate. Personally, I quite like them, but I do not like the way that the price that you normally end up having to pay is calculated, as it is inevitably going to be much higher than the advertised price.
However, having said that, you only get what you pay for and as such, Dell just offers the consumer choice, which in the case of the new Vostro is quite extensive. However, the only place to start when looking at this new laptop is to take the base model, which is the Vostro 3560.
This laptop comes with the medium sized 15.6 inch High Definition (720p) LED Display with the Anti-Glare costing and a 1366 × 768 of pixel resolution. It is powered by the older style Sandy Bridge 2nd generation Intel Core i3-2370M processor with a clock speed of 2.40 Ghz and the graphics coming via the Intel HD Graphics 3000 card.
There is 4 GB of Shared Single Channel DDR3 Memory and a 320 GB 7200 RPM SATA hard disk drive (HDD) for storage purposes. Entertainment is by the HD Audio 2.0 supporting Wave MaxxVoice Pro and the 8X Tray Load CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive).
Other features include the Dell Wireless 1901 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0 for networking, superfast USB 3.0 port, standard style USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out, VGA, Ethernet and SD card reader. It comes in three cool colours to choose from; Bronze, Red and Silver, weighs a hefty 5.75 pounds with the 48 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Battery pack in place.
As normal the prices of the new Dell Vostro start off very competitively with the 3560 base model starting off at $600, but there are those options to choose from the Dell menu and from here the price goes up!
