It is not unusual for certain sources to come forward and tip us off on an expected release date for new Apple products. At this point in time, the next generation iPhone and the elusive iPad Mini are talk of the tech town. It is not known in entirety as to what Apple has featured in these products nevertheless rumors paint a very pretty picture for us. The official release dates for these products are not yet known. As of today’s latest rumor the iPad Mini and the iPhone 5 will be announced on September 12 by Apple.
Earlier last week Apple reported a relative drop in iPhone sales in Q2 2012 as compared to Q1 2012. This sales drop is quite normal as most prospective consumers tend to hold off on purchasing an iPhone if a new model is on the horizon. With the timely release of its next generation iPhone Apple would certainly hope to garner a fair amount of holiday sales.
Last year the iPhone 4S was announced on October 4 and it began shipping just ten days later on October 14. If this new rumor is any good, then its quite possible that Apple will be aiming to boost consumer interest in its latest smartphone by heavily advertising the said device before holiday season begins. According to this rumor the next generation iPhone, or iPhone 5, will be announced on September 12 and will be available for purchase merely nine days later on September 21.
The iPad Mini has its fair share of rumors. Speculation about this elusive device began well over two years ago and this device is yet to materialize. Recent rumors have indicated that Apple has indeed begun production of the iPad Mini. Today’s rumor also pegs iPad Mini release on September 12. It is not unheard of Apple to release two major new products at one single event. Information as to when it will actually available for purchase is not readily available at the moment.
The sole reason why Apple is thought to be developing the iPad Mini is to conquer mid-range Android tablets such as Google Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire which dominate the mid-range tablet market. Apple currently does not even have a foot in the door, so its perfectly logical for the company to release a 7.85 inch tablet. Timing an announcement and release in September gives the company ample time to market its newly released iPad in time for feverish sales during the holidays.
