(Before It's News)

Windows 8 blog revealed details of windows 8 applications, but one at a time. The latest blog was on the photo-sharing application in the OS. The general idea behind the application is to provide a common place for the pictures that are clicked in a phone or saved in hard disk, or in Facebook’s account or any other social networks, creating a giant photo album with numerous pictures, a hand touch away. The app offers an instinctive platform for Windows’ users to consolidate, view and share all of their photos irrespective of which device was used to take the photo or where they are stored.

Consumer preview of the Windows 8 provides this app preview with a four column Metro UI, which accumulates our pictures in local folder, Facebook, Flickr and SkyDrive. With SkyDrive application installed in a non windows8 gadget, it is possible to merge photos from that device too to the cloud memory, where all other photos are saved. The pictures can be accessed using the Photos app in any windows 8 devices. The pictures can be imported directly and can be shared through ‘Share charm’ as attachments or even as SkyDrive links. Let us wait and see how good is windows 8; or is it just going to be a replica of Apple? But, the photo app is indeed something to look forward to.
