You have to go way back to the CES 2012 in Las Vegas to when we first saw the Lenovo ThinkPad T430u Ultrabook and now it has been set for release this month with a starting price of just $780, which is great starting point for an Intel Core powered machine, with Nvidia graphics and a lot of options to choose from for memory and storage.
The T430u has a smallish fourteen inch screen with LED back lit display, a matte finish to limit glare and a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution as well as a built in web camera and microphone. It will naturally be running on Microsoft’s Windows 7 Professional operating system, it will be powered by the 3rd generation Intel Ivy Bridge Core processors the buyer can choose which model to suit needs and pocket. Graphics will be through the Nvidia GeForce GT 620M graphics card.
When it comes to memory and storage there will be choice of up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM available, up to 1 TB of hard disk drive (HDD) storage as well as the option to go with a 128 GB of solid state drive (SSD). The body has a nice soft touch black aluminium chassis, steel display hinges and that important spill resistant keyboard with chiclet keys. Not forgetting the multi touch track pad with Track Point feature.
Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, two fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, Mini-Display Port and 4 in 1 SD Card slot. The T430u is just 0.8 inches thick and it weighs in at just 4.1 pounds with the sealed battery included that Lenovo say will offer the user up to seven hours of battery life.
Lenovo have priced the ThinkPad T430u Ultrabook to start from $779 but with all of those options available this price is bound to end up much higher.
