(Before It's News)

Among other people, I am not a fan of surveys. I feel like the majority of them really never assists the public, but indeed, this one caught my eye. Verizon and Motorola have always had that “special little relationship”, and now they are taking it a step further to incorporate products for FIOS TV.

So what exactly are the two companies planning? A recent customer survey shows that a new Android tablet is in the works, which will offer compatibility for FIOS TV. This will be called the Corvair.

Even though there are not “loads of released specs”, here are a few:

  • Android 2.3 OS
  • 6-inch screen
  • 4000 mAh battery
  • Wi-Fi reliable
  • FIOS TV compatibility for recording, playing, and changing channels

Basically this tablet is acting as an Android-based universal remote. What is even cooler though, is that you can also stream media right on the device without interrupting the current station, or channel.

There is no word on the cost of this device, or if it will be available as a “rent device”, just like a cable box. What do you think of the Corvair? Will it be useful in your household? I would love to hear your comments.
