The (cladistic) idea of a True Tree of Life is ancient among humanity. The problem is, and has always been, however, tree of what? Life? Has anyone seen Life? Is it one or many?
The problem is not to envision (or illustrate) our idea of a True Tree of Life, but to formulate it. The idea appears to disappear behind our subjective formulation of it as soon as we try to formulate it. The idea appears to be hidden behind what we can say.
So, what is the problem with our idea of a True Tree of Life? Well, the problem is that we can only reach locations with our words by logical reasoning, not addresses to the locations, because addresses reside in words themselves, and a True Tree of Life is an address per definition. There are just addresses and locations, and our idea of a True Tree of Life is an address. We thus can’t reach the True Tree of Life by logical reasoning because it is an address when we can just reach locations. The address of the True Tree of Life is thus simply forever outside of our reach because we can only reach locations. The True Tree of Life is orthogonal to our logical reasoning.
We can, of course, claim that address equals location, like cladistics does, but it does not lead us to the True Tree of Life, but only to loosing ourselves among words, because it doesn’t. If there indeed is a True Tree of Life, then this “Tree” will forever be hidden behind words, because it is the address our words themselves address. It is the objectivity that is hidden behind subjectivity (or the subjectivity that can’t be objective). It is the impossible fusion of dream with reality.

the tree of life must exist, when you read about the tree of life it rebuilds the earth after people ruin the earth,by its leaves from the tree.
im sorry but if the tree of life doesnt exist then the world is as good as dead and we are in the last few yrs of the existance of the entire earth and all its inhabitance.
so for me i must believe the tree of life does exist because if it doesnt all hope is gone.
