(Before It's News)

Everyone likes deals. Whether it is a great price on a new device, free accessories or BOGO offer, we all love them. It appears Sprint is about to up the ante on a new deal scheduled to start August 12th and run through the end of September. Or so it would appear from the leaked promo image. Sprint will be offering a free ZTE Optik Android tablet with the purchase of any smartphone. So this deal goes beyond just and Android phone and is extended to the iPhone and anything else they offer.

Full details are a bit scarce at the moment, though we do know that you will need a two-year contract on both. Which means you will be paying for data on the tablet at the very least. We aren’t sure if this offer extends to new customers only or if it will be available for current customers looking to upgrade.

As far as the tablet goes, free is free. The ZTE Optik isn’t a Nexus 7, that’s for sure. However it does come in with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of memory, 7-inch screen at 1280×800 resolution and a 4,000 mAh battery. Yes, it is also way behind the times and only sports Android 3.2 Honeycomb. I have played about with this tablet on a few occasions while visiting some friends at our local Sprint store and it isn’t a terrible device. I personally wouldn’t tell someone to go out of their way to buy one, but again, if its free, why the heck not.
