(Before It's News)

Looks like Google just pushed out an update for every ones favorite web browser app, Chrome for Android. As with most updates for any app, this one includes some bug fixes and stability improvements that should help you out a little bit. Here is a quick look at what Google posted in the ‘What’s New’ section.

Chrome for Android M18.1
This version update includes a number of security and stability improvements. Additional highlights
-Location preference now integrated to system level Google apps location setting.
-Youtube videos controls now work in full screen mode; videos continue playing after a screen lock/unlock
-Fixes to make third-party IMEs work better with Chrome

The last one might be a bit confusing to some. IME is a fancy term for keyboard. So Google did a little fixing for better third-party keyboard support. Third party keyboards are ones like Swype, A.I.Type, SwiftKey 3, SlideIT, GO Keyboard and others. Again, the update isn’t all that major.

There is an ever so slight UI design change that wasn’t mentioned. Good thing we have eagle-eyed friends over at Androidpolice.  The browser tabs are a bit more squared off and the ‘X’ to close a tab is a little closer to the edge. The top image is prior to the update, the bottom images is after the update.

I never would have noticed that on my own. They also point out that the ‘report an issue’ box is missing from many screens that it used to appear on and ‘import bookmarks’ on the settings page was added. All just little things that many of us would probably never have even noticed.

It never hurts to keep your device up to date with the latest app updates, so click or scan that little QR code below to head to the Play Store to update Chrome or pick it up for the first time.
