The rise of the thin, light and fast starting ultrabook continues, this time it is the turn of Mouse Computer to show off the latest addition to their ever increasing range of laptops, with the Mouse Computer LB-L450B. Like all ultrabooks the LB-L450B will need to stick to the requirements as laid down by Intel in order to qualify to use the term ultrabook. Well it is powered by an i7 Intel Core processor, chipset and graphics, its light at under two kilos and thin too at just 21 mm thick, so it certainly has all of the requirements.
However, does the LB-L450B ultrabook have what it takes to compete in this growing marketplace? Let’s take a closer look, it has the 14 inch screen with wide LCD Glossy (LED back light) display with a 1366 × 768 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in 1.0 mega pixel web camera too. It will be running on the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system and is powered by the latest Intel Core i7-3517U processor 3.00 GHz 4 MB with support for the Smart Cache with HT maximum at 2 cores.
There is also support for the Intel HM77 Express chipset and video is provided through the Intel HD Graphics card 4000 with NVIDIA Optimus technology. With 8 GB of PC3-12800 DDR3 SODIMM, 500 GB of SerialATAII 5400 rpm (connection SATAII) hard disk drive (HDD) and there is a 32 GB mSATA connection solid state drive (SSD). There is IEEE 802.11 b / g / n wireless LAN, Module compliant with Bluetooth ® V4.0 + LE and 1000 Base-T/100 Base-TX/10 BASE-T (RJ-45) to cover networking.
For connectivity, there are two standard type USB 2.0 ports, a single superfast USB 3.0 port with power supply on, Multi-Card Reader, D-sub and a HDMI out. As for size, the LB-L450B ultrabook measures up at 344 mm (H) × 240 mm (D) × 21 mm (H) and it weighs in at 1.83 kg with the built-in lithium-ion battery pack that Mouse Computer say should be good for up to 5.5 hours. Mouse Computer have put a starting price of just over a $1,000 on the LB-L450B ultrabook.
