This is the latest version of the Inspiron by Dell, it is an ultrabook, being light, slim and fast starting, but this is a Dell and as such, there is going to be much more to it than that on offer, but this drastically changes the base price of $750 with every change made. We will be checking out the entry level version of the Inspiron 15Z here as is gives us a base to work from. there is a lot going on with this range with options for touch screen capability, Blu-ray player, increased memory, upgrades to 128 GB or 256 GB solid state drives (SSD), discreet graphics and the Nvidia GeForce GT630M 2G graphics card.
The base version of the Inspiron 15Z comes with the 15.6 inch (39.6 cm) screen in High Definition (720p) with LED Display plus Truelife and a 1366 × 768 of pixel resolutions. This laptop will be running on the latest Microsoft Windows 8 Pro 64 bit operating system and its is powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core i3-3217U processor with a 3M Cache and 1.8 GHz. There is support from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 card and there is also the useful Intel Rapid Start Technology.
For memory, there is a 4 GB of DDR3 SDRAM at 1600 MHz but this can go up to 8 GB if required and there is a 500 GB 5400 RPM SATA hard disk drive (HDD) and a 32 GB mSATA solid state drive (SSD) for storage purposes. There is also a handy 8x DVD+/-RW Optical Drive available and all this weighs in at just 1.87 KG (4.12 lbs) and that is even with the 44Wh battery installed. As always Dell have been clever at pricing with the entry level model having a starting price of $750, but that is just the starting point for higher end models have a starting price of $800 and then there are the options to add on too.
