(Before It's News)

Atari 2600 was one of the most popular home consoles back in the day, however, this has changed, and Atari 2600 has faded away, but if you’re fan of Atari, you might be interested in today’s device.

Folks from Hard Drives Northwest have managed to enhance the old Atari 2600 by removing its internal parts and replacing them with computer components. Atari 2600 has been turned into a computer, and it is now powered by Intel Core i7 3.4GHz processor and it uses 120GB SATA SSD for storage. Other components include 8GB RAM, Radeon HD 6570 1GB 128-bit DDR3 GPU, an Ethernet port, a couple of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, eSATA 3 GB/s ports, d-Sub and 2 DVI ports, a DisplayPort connector, an HDMI port, and analog audio jacks. As for the cooling, this new Atari should be able to sustain long hours of intensive gaming since it is using bottom fan, along with dual fans installed at cartridge cutout.

If you’re retro gamer, new Atari 2600 gaming computer might be perfect with you, but so far, we have no information about release date or pricing.
